Sugar craving after long runs?

I'm just starting to seriously train for a 1/2. The other day I went out for a 5 mile run and felt fine during and shortly after the run. However, by the end of the day I was craving nothing but sugar (like junk food kinds of sugar). This lasted into the following day. I really don't want to crave junk food or eat it because there's nothing nutritional about it. Has this ever happened to anyone and what have you done to curb the sugar craving?

Na. Running doesn't make me crave junk food as far as I can tell. My tastes are predominantly the same as they ever were. If you typically crave sugar then you might want it more but I don't think I want more of a specific thing after a run.

That's not true. The carbohydrates in sugar are very nutritional. Your body needs carbs. Perhaps not in the quantity that you desire but that doesn't make the food itself bad or undesirable.
