Aloha everyone! I hope you are all having a fantastic day. This week I thought it was a good idea to throw a breakfast challenge our way. So this week ask yourself "Do I eat breakfast?" and "Is my breakfast healthy?" I know that I personally have problems in this dept. So, If you dont usually eat breakfast, eat breakfast! If your breakfast consists of candy or other questionable items, eat a healthier breakfast  Some ideas for a healthier breakfast might be oatmeal, yogurt, fresh fruit, whole wheat toast or a veggie omelette. So eat your breakfast and share with the group what your healthy breakfast choices are, you might inspire someone elses breakfast :)

Totally had a cookie for breakfast yesterday. It's a good thing I got that out of my system before this challenge!

I LOVE breakfasts! I cook breakfast everyday for my and the boyfriend. I usually a turkey burger without the bun, or eggs in whatever variety I can think of.

This is the perfect challenge to get me going again, the past week has been. Well, I had the flu, and ate whatever the hey hey I felt like, which ultimately left me feeling icky. This challenge will be a great way to get back into the spirit of things. Planning to have eggies for breakfast tomorrow, (actual eggs not the delicious easter candies lol).

Morning everyone and thanks for another challenge Mailia.

Breakfast is a meal I just can't miss. I could probably count on one hand how many breakfast's I've missed in the last 5 years. You do NOT want to be around me if I don't eat in the morning.

Usually I have a protein shake as I drive to work, and this morning will probably be the same. Although it is getting cold enough that hot oatmeal sounds really good. I may have to make an effort to fix some tomorrow. There is instant in the house for my son, but I prefer my own cooked where I control what goes in. I have to see if we still have frozen peaches....

Time to hit the road for work. Have a great breakfast and a great day/week!

That's totally my case. having breakfast (or not) sets my mood for the entire day. And if missing breakfast is combined with not having my morning coffee... it's a disaster LOL

  • Thanks for the challenge!!

I eat every morning but I don't always make good choices! I will make a bigger effort this week

Yesterday I had a homemade breakfast wrap
Today I had a fruit and yogurt parfait from McDonald's

Time to think and plan now ;)

I normally have an egg breakfast sandwich.
Egg whites, ham or turkey, lowfat cheese, toast and salsa.... so good!
Or cereal w/ skim milk and a banana.
Or if I'm in a rush I'll have yogurt and a granola bar or granola cookie.

I didn't use to eat breakfast, but a dietition said it was super important and could throw off your body for the rest of the day. So I always try to eat within 2 hours of waking. :)

This put me in the mood for breakfast to the point where I made breakfast for dinner last night!

This morning's breakfast was a piece of buttered toast, a green apple and some peanut butter.

I hope everyone had a wonderful morning!

Today I had a special K ham, egg, and pepperjack breakfast sandwich and greek yogurt with almonds! It was awesome :) Much better than the candy I had last week, lol! Great breakfasts everyone! Protien shake is a great quick breakfast, I'll probably steal that one for one of my breakfasts

ok so I slept in and didn't get around to making eggs, so I had a carnation instant breakfast shake made with skim milk, and some vitamin C water (trying to boost my sad little immune system lol).
  • Peanut butter and jam sandwich with coffee this morning... I looked at the eggs looked at the stove closed the fridge and went for the bread!! I need to go shopping!

Thought of oatmeal, but overslept this morning. Instead: 1 egg fried in pam, 1 slice low fat american cheese, two slices Rose brand canadian bacon on 1/2 hamburger bun.

This morning as a was walking out the door I realized that I was out of my usual fast breakfast choice, yogurt! So my breakfast today was not the greatest chioce.... I had a mcdonalds egg white delight sandwich and a cup of dole mandarines in 100% fruit juice... Not my greatest day but better than some of my other choices, so tomorrow I'll do better :)
  • Good morning, I had a fruit smoothie and bagel this morning! I love the smoothies I think I should look into making them at home instead of always buying :)

I don't eat a lot of "breakfast food" in the morning.

But I still eat breakfast everyday! Even if it's just a piece of fruit and some toast, but more often than not, lunch or dinner leftovers are heated and served as the first meal of the next day.

So you are as likely to see satay beef and broccoli on my breakfast menu as you are an omelet, (Though I do a love a good omelet for supper sometimes!)

    Great challenge idea Malia!
  • i have always hated eating in the morning. for years and years i ate poptarts or granola bars as i was driving to school or work. we all know those are nothing but carbs and sugar, which are off my diet permanently.

after the surgery i had to drink so many nasty protein shakes for the first 6 weeks that i got to where i couldn't stomach them anymore. so i started slipping. and i could never get enough protein in for the day. so last week the doctors says to start drinking a protein shake a day again. ugh!

i now drink one every day for breakfast before i get to the gym. which is good because it fuels my workouts. and probably because i am not being forced to drink so many of them and because i can now use juice and peanut butter and fruit and other good things in them, i don't mind drinking it every morning. and finally, my daily protein is coming up.

The past couple of days have been crazy for me so I haven't been on track and no breakfast has been consumed! I will be back on track soon.

Like M23prime, anything goes for me in the morning - I love savory. But like Dan, I usually start with a protein shake - it's easy to drink at work while other people are having coffee. I love a hot meal though, so on the weekend, it's usually leftovers. This morning it was leftover eggy fritters (mix diced ANYTHING with raw diced onion, dust with flour, mix in an egg & fry). But if I never get around to having that shake, it causes evening cravings. Uh oh!

That sounds like a tasty mix. Thanks Rhonda, and Welcome to the group!

I am please to report that after two days of birthday excesses (my son collected me yesterday morning and we spent most of the day together. Wouldn't trade that time for all the healthiest food made by a top chef) I am back on it this morning. My wife and I didn't make the El Malpais trails on Friday due to rain, so we are headed back out this morning. Protein shakes to go!

Enjoy your choice of breakfast and have a great Sunday!
  • Happy late birthday Dan!

Yesterday was home made breakfast wraps and today cream of wheat!

I change my breakfast every morning... So many of you stick to one same type of breakfast I guess it makes it easier to log, I have yet to find something that I like enough to have every morning and have time to have... :)

2.5 years till I no longer have to race a kid out to daycare!

Morning everyone. Thanks Holly! It was a nice birthday weekend.

I took the extra time this morning to cook. One egg, canadian bacon, sliced tomato, cheese and a partial slice of sourdough bread. Very tasty since I've been having mostly protein shakes.
  • Today I had one cup of fruit loops, one cup of bananas and grapes mixed together, a glass of milk, and a cup of coffee with 2 packets of equal. I am learning to eat breakfast, but I know I don't have as much energy if I don't fit it in!

This morning I had and egg white sandwich, with ham, tomato, guacamole and part skim mozzarella.
So so good! I want another one but I don't need it.
