Hi everyone

I am wanting to start using a running app but hear they vary in accuracy for tracking distance

Keen to hear which you have found the most and least accurate and for the less accurate ones do they tend to over or underestimate distance?

Thanks

I use Endomondo. Most accurate on streets in the winter. Least accurate on trails in the summer. Great for programming intervals. Especially time intervals. I have a number of routes that I know the distances for...and I can always add an extra mile around my neighborhood if needed.

Accuracy has more to do with your phones ability to receive a GPS than in the accuracy of a specific app.

RunDouble is a very good app...i ran a GPS watch also while running in a track and typically over short distances (2-3) miles.. the gps on my phone was over about 1/10 of a mile....

for the program though, i think the time you run is more important than the distance you cover.

    Good Luck!!

I use RunDouble and really like it. I also like MapMyRide. You can change the settings to show run, walk, bicycle, etc.)

I love Runtastic. Its accurate in calculating distance (GPS signal is great by me) and even very close in calorie calculation to my HRM.
