I find drinking hot tea throughout the day really helps with the appetite. Soothes the tummy.

I drink herbal non-caffeine lemon or peppermint, and if I need a little pick me up, I will have some Earl Grey or some Chai.

    Some people like broth.

This works most of the time, although there are a few days here and there where I feel very hungry, usually in the afternoon.

On those days I eat more of the reserve snacks and foods I keep here at work (string cheese in the fridge, i bring an avocado with me most days which just sits on my desk and returns home with me - unless i need it, shakes in the fridge, etc...) and then at dinner I fill up on more veggies, and more protein.

I chalk these days up to fluctuations in hormones, the body doing it's thing through it's cycles, etc.

this will not be a linear and exact experience, but in the end, if you are consistent, you will succeed.

That Endulge coconut bar may be fueling your hunger. They have that effect on some people. We often can't distinguish between true hunger and thirst so I recommend to keep sipping through out the day.

That was my first thought too. Add cheese to that egg in the morning, ranch dressing on the salad.

Like Fendi and Mel said... Add fat! Go pick up some sausage, bacon, whatever. You're running waaaaay too lean, and that will hamper the benefits you seek! You're doing the suffering portion of Atkins perfectly, but you aren't partaking in its joys! Go, consume fat, let the ketosis games begin, and enjoy your forthcoming superpowers! Muhahahaha!

Be well, be safe, be happy!

I appreciate all the input.. Thanks you guys.. I'm at day 12, and I have upped my fats somewhat. I scares the beggeesus out of me to think that I have to increase the fat.. :/ I'm supposed to switch over to OWL on Monday, but I'm still not sure if I am going to continue on or not. Part of me wants to, but the other part is a bit hesitant. According to the Atkins book, I should be having 15-17 oz of protein a day or approx. 450+ gms . I think the book said 512 gms. That sure is a lot of protein. Even after a full day, I don't even come close. Just quickly adding up, I can hit 13oz, but a lot less gram wise. Am I doing something wrong?

One thing I have found is this.... I have been using coconut oil in my coffee in the morning, and I have found that it sure helps keep me happy. I kind of gives it a creamy texture, but not oily tasting.

I've been on the Atkins forum, but I get more help and information here. Thanks again, Kat :)

get yourself some KETO strips, they sale them at all pharmacies, use them to see if your ketosis,, if your not, then those bars or the carbs in the vegies are kicking you out of keto, you need to be in ketosis for your appitite to die off, then eating the fats is going to satisfy complelty, gosh yes eat bacon , eggs fried in the bacon, put full fat cream in your coffee, ect, for some people those NET carbs are a disaster,, hope this helps

I would up the fat & reduce the protein. I find too much protein stalls my weightloss, plus it's the fat that keeps me full. Try making a cheese sauce to go with the veggies, and have smaller portions of protein? Make sure you choose fattier cuts of meat too such as belly pork, chicken leg with skin, salmon etc.

According to Atkins, and one of the moderators on the Atkins forum, I am under my protein, and fats.... So I'm trying to work on that, I only have one of the bars once in awhile, not everyday. I have been using Coconut oil in my coffee, and that has definitely helped. I was told that most of my calorie intake for the day should be fats..... is that correct? That's a scary thought. I need to pick up some groceries tomorrow, and I plan to get some sausage to go along with everything else.. Thanks a lot you guys, I really appreciate your help. Annnnnddddd.... I know that I will have more questions.. Kat :)
