5x5 workout for women

I am researching the SL 5x5 and wondering your opinions. Any articles you recommend? Currently I workout Mon-Sat; 2 hours a day (30 mins cardio, 45 mins lifting circuit and then another 25-30 min cardio) I mix the cardio with incline trainer, stairmill or HITT. I am following Kris Grethen's 12 week program from Body Building. its boring.... but I am tweeking it a little with extra baby sets.

I am wondering if I follow the 5x5 Mon, Wed and Friday - is it helpful or counter productive to still work out Tuesday, Saturday on cardio/circuits?

I am 5'2" - 115lbs and about 16% body fat. My goal is to gain a little more muscle. I want to do my first fitness competition in March. I am not really worried about bulking up; I don't train/eat that way. Just wanna get lean and mean. :)

    From what I understand you need the recovery days so light cardio on your non lifting days would be cool, but definitely no other strength.
