  • Hi Jellarrysmum, you are doing such a fantastic job, you are a definite inspiration for me! This week I stayed the same, which is frustrating, I think I got carried away with the excitement of last week's 1.5 kg loss  I need to read through what I ate the previous week and stick to it so that I have another good loss to get me back on track for losing 20 lbs by Christmas.

    SW 88.5 kg
    1 W 87.5 kg
    2 W 87 kg
    3 W 86 kg
    4 W 85.8 kg
    5 W 85.8 kg
    6 W 84.3 kg
    7 W 84.3 kg

    Christmas GW 78.9 kg
    Ultimate GW 68 kg

Aww thanks :) I look at the weeks where I stay the same and think, well its not a loss, but it's better than a gain! :)

Yes I know what you mean, it could be a lot worse! I just have to get my head back into it and do what I did last week and keep on doing it. I am going back to the UK for Christmas and New Year and I really want to look like I have lost weight. Here's to a good week for everyone, there are some fantastic losses happening. Very inspiring....

    SW - 145.8
    LW - 146
    CW -147 lbs

Gain 1.2 lbs Very discouraging because I feel leaner and I have been eating well and exercising. I know I am doing everything right.

I took my measurements this morning as well and this week I am down a total of 2.5 inches.

    chest .5 inch
    waist 1.5 inches
    thigh .25 nches
    calf .25

Total 2.5 inches for a total inch lost of 5.5 since the challenge started.

Well done everyone for your losses!

I can honestly say that I am a little disillusioned because of no weight loss and I'm trying to stay positive with my measurement loss.

    Have a great week everyone!

    Karen

A couple of things that might help - 1. try monitoring your salt intake for one week and see if you are in the range that MFP suggests; and 2. water intake. Once you have normalized your water intake, at least 8 cups a day (not including coffee, tea, juice, etc.) then your body will no longer retain water. When it knows it can count on what's coming in it won't hold any "just incase". That same principal works with calories - you have to eat enough good stuff to support your weightloss/fitness goals. Too little and your body will store calories for later and we all know where those calories get stored! Keep up the great work!

You can tell I don't know what I am doing! I was trying to reply to a post, but now seem to have put three separate ones on here. :ohwell:

I just posted this as a comment to Karen's diary, interesting that the topic has come up again here:

Our brains can do some funny things sometimes and that is the topic that weight loss programs don't talk about - mental toughness. In my profile pic are 3 charms, 1 marking every 10 lbs lost. The first says, "weakness is a choice"; the second, "I choose strength"; and the third is a kettlebell to remind me that I always feel better after a workout.

As an after-thought - I wear these to not only mark the milestones but to remind me that I am in control of this journey, no one else can sabotage me but me because I choose whether I eat in response to stress, or skip a workout to read. It has taken years of self gratification to get myself over 200 lbs and I know that I have to be mentally tough if I am going to take 6 months to relearn good habits. It is natural to resist change . . . even when the change is for the better! Have a great week everyone - be strong!

No change for me this week, that's disappointing. 12 lbs to go for Xmas.

That was last week... and this week... STILL the same. This is so discouraging. I am following my calories and exercising, so I don't know what is causing this non-loss. I am doing this with several ladies at work, and they are way ahead of me. By comparison, I have lost about 3.7% of my weight, and they have lost between 8-10%. So irritated... :grumble:
