bumping today's thread
DH has meeting today, so I'll be stuck with little girl. Gonna try to go by the gym to sign-up (if lil girl will cooperate).
Have a good one!0 -
So I travel this week for work and I know there will be 1 or 2 days I might miss a good workout. I also know I'll be eating out the whole time! Thinking about how i can still have a successful week and not be in my normal routine.
Tonight is Les Mills Body Pump - I love that class! I'm a full time student too....and figured out they 60-90 minutes on the recumbent bike = 1 hour of reading in my current text book. Maybe I'll do Body Pump and then do 30 minutes or so on the recumbent just to get those extra minutes in.
Also - I noticed last night that my fav belt is getting too big! I used to buckle it on the next to the biggest hole & last night I had it cinched to the tightest! Almost time for a new belt!! Yay!0 -
Stacy, good luck with travel (esp. the eating-out !). You might look up Body Pump where you're going. It's so popular, you could probably find a class in the area (unless it'll be biz mtgs in the evenings too, in which case: my condolences!). Congrats on the belt!! That's what it's all about!! Yay!
So today I ended up carrying my lil girl for about 4 scores and 7 years. ugh! haha. All the busses were full and I ended up doing MUCH more walking than I intended and she wasn't cooperating, so I had to carry her about 90% of the time. BUT I did get signed-up at the gym--yay! Now I'm getting nervous about my first real trip to the gym, but I guess I'll just have to "suck it up, buttercup". I'm exhaaauuusted from today and still have to drag the kids down to son's tkd & back, and then figure something out for dinner. Isn't it hump day yetttt???? :sad:0 -
Stacy I traveled for work in October and despite packing workout clothes & my running shoes (which was a challenge because I just used my carry-on & didn't check luggage) I managed 20 minutes on the elliptical in the hotel fitness center one day, and that was it. The fitness center had pretty limited hours, which messed me up. Meals were also erratic. But I walked a lot (it was in Vegas) and scheduled a session with my trainer the day I got back and bounced back from it pretty quickly.
Congrats Sherry on signing up for the gym! I read your plan of attack on the other thread and it sounds like a good one.
I booked an hour on the TrekDesk at work this afternoon, then have Pilates right after work. My Pilates instructor always puts us through an awesome core workout so I'm looking forward to that.0 -
Today I burned 592 Calories with my leg workout and a volleyball game tonight total time was about 90mins. No run today everything is still really wet from the rain the last two days. I hope to run in the morning after work hopefully don't get off too late.
Great job today everyone glad to see everyone on here working hard regardless if you made it to the gym today or not!0 -
Made it back to Nia class this morning and the sun came out even though a cold breeze and I did river walk too, then treated myself to a great new sweater on sale!
It is a smaller size and looks ok now but will look even better when I lose some more. It's a good motivator.
Stacy great about the belt!
Sounds like good work out Laura.
Tim I know in military you always get a good workout!! lol My son-n-law is major in air force working at Academy in Colorado right now, he is in great shape, but always has been a runner, biker, and sports player.0 -
Sherry, good for you on the gym sign up! My youngest is 14 now but I do remember how tough it is when they are younger and trying to get everything in that you need to do. Good that you are taking great care of yourself!
Laura, I'm hoping for an elliptical or something in the workout center at the hotel. Which reminds me I should just look it up and see what they have.
Marla a new sweater is a fun treat. You'll be looking great for the holidays!
Thanks all for your encouragement!0 -
Today I did Strength Pull for 35 minutes and Blast and Burn for 15 minutes burned a total of 450 calories. I also did TKD class - decent workout for about 15 minutes, but then had to help hold boards and teach a new white belt.0
