Homemade taco seasoning-LC/GF/DF/EG

We had tacos for dinner last night and I tried making my own taco seasoning. I was really apprehensive, because there's just something about old el paso taco seasoning that I just love. Unfortunately it's not GF and it's not carb free either.
I followed this recipe:
1 tablespoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
1 teaspoon sea salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
Mix spices in plastic container and use ~2tbsp per lb of meat. Add the usual 1/3 cup water after you add the spices. It makes about 3 Tbsp, so next time I will make a double batch to get a few more uses out of it, but it'd be the perfect amount for 1.5-2lbs of meat.
I'm happy to report that this was a huge success! The salt level was perfect, enough to make it taste naughty but not as much as the prepared taco seasoning, and in terms of the flavor profile I couldn't tell the difference. It also had a really nice level of heat (which I found came from the black pepper vs the chili). I would add cayenne to make it hotter and decrease to 1/2 tsp black pepper to make it more mild. I just had leftovers for lunch and they were even better than last night.

I always make my own as well. I don't have a recipe per se, just eyeball it out, I've done it so much I don't really need to measure. It's much better this way, you can control whats in it vs opening a package.0

Sounds yum, I make all my own sauces and seasonings. That way you know exactly whats going into them!0
