Good morning! I am so thankful to have stumbled here (I am clumsy by nature lol) So, I started "seriously" in October with changing my foods and exercise. I started with Chalean Extreme; however, after perusing the forums here for a while and looking at all the fabulous lifting photos - that is where my heart took me.
I immediately ordered as much equipment as I could and ended up with: Olympic barbell weight set, multi-function bench, squat rack, swiss ball, step block (multi-level) and selecttech dumbbells (up to 52.5lbs). I finished the weight room last night (woohoo!).
I do pretty well staying in my calorie goals; however, I can't seem to nail the macro/protein problem. I currently have everything set manually for 1710 calories (from my TDEE - 30% I believe but this might need adjusting) and the macros set at 40/30/30. My diary is open so you can see. Last weekend was rough as I was painting my daughters room for 2 days
Provide your stats (height/weight/age/bodyfat% if you know it/etc) 5'7.75" / 176 / 39 / was around 30%?
What's your current gross intake of calories, on average? 1558 (averaged 16 days)
What's your current average intake of protein, carbs, and fats, in grams? (GRAMS, not percent!) 151.25g 62.625g 102.625g
Do you use a food scale and measure everything? EVERYTHING (except liquid)
Do you track all of your intake, daily? (Everything?) Yes
Do you take cheat days or days off? Not on purpose
How much weight have you lost so far and over what time period? 5.5lb since October 21, 2013
Describe your activity (exercise and non exercise) and did you change that activity withing the last couple of months? Desk job - have been redoing my house
How long have you been stalled and if it is not a complete stall please be very specific as to how much you have lost over the stalled period. - no stall that I am aware of
Are you breastfeeding? hell to the no
Do you have thyroid issues/risks or PCOS? - Tricky part... Subacute Thyroidits, Hashimotos, hypothyroid... nice eh? yes, I am on Synthroid .175mcg (high dose) .. had ultrasound and see endocrinology on 20 Nov. I have had this for 13 years and it was ignored so being taken care of now.
Any suggestions welcome. I will begin my first NROL4W workout Monday morning. It was a good fit for me and something I could understand. I just want to make sure I am good with diet and that I don't hurt myself in the process.
Thanks!

Are you having any issues with your current methods? It looks like your results are good so far.0

Not really as far as stalling goes... I just can't seem to every hit Protein macro and I eat ALOT - for instance 9oz of salmon last night... I tend to double my meat portions to large sizes to try and hit it but still seem to miss.
I am not hungry (like I used to be before starting this) and keep myself from being ravenous. I just wanted to have everything squared away for when I started Stage 1 or if you by chance saw anything out of whack
Thanks for responding - I do appreciate it. I am sure even starting it will take me a bit to get the form down - I will be watching videos this weekend. I have had 3 previous back surgeries with the last one being in 2002 so I really want to make sure that I don't hurt myself0 -
Have you considered getting a protein powder?0

I have - but wasn't sure what kind. Last time I tried one, let's just say I didn't hold it down well and have a horrible gag reflex :bigsmile:0

I've tried different brands and a few of them didn't sit well with me. Trutein is my favorite and I don't seem to have any issues with it.0

Thanks I will give that a try!
Just going to sit here and read/study up... thanks for your input- I do really appreciate it. I will check in periodically on my progress (god let there be progress lol)0
