Hi, Just wondering if any one eles is on the Victoza shot? I started it about a month ago and it seems to be helping by lowering my blood sugar and it also makes me not hungry.

    It was non-formulary for my insurance, but twice a day injection Byetta (which is the same kind of drug but a different manufacturer) was okay so I started that. After 9 months I switched to Bydureon (once a week shot). This drug scares me a little with what it says about side effects, but it has been GREAT for me. My blood glucose numbers are pretty normal now - low 80s fasting, 120 an hour or 2 after a meal. My last A1C (July) was 6.1. An important benefit was the fact it does slow down stomach-emptying so I don't feel hungry after a small meal. I have been able to lose 83 lbs. I took it as a last-ditch effort to control BG and lose weight. I was planning gastric bypass.
