Made beef heart stew last night for my family and all 3 of my kids ages 13,10 and 5 ate it ! They had no clue it wasn't their normal piece of meat.. I found it at a local grower for about 2lbs for 3 bucks.. The recipe I use was very simple

4 lbs beef heart ( I could have just use 2lbs and it would have been enough)
Water about 2 cups
onion
carrots
potatoes ( I didn't eat them)
celery
and spices I had on hand, Chili powder, garlic powder, cumin, paprika, pepper salt ..
Brown the meat in a big pot with a little oil or natural butter, once brown I added in the rest of the ingredients and water.. Let it simmer for a good 2-3 hours

So simple yet so good !!

I haven't attempted organ meat yet, but this sounds good and easy!

I've been thinking about doing this. I've just been grilling my beef heart, but I think this sounds better!

I forgot to say I soaked the hearts in apple vinegar and water for about 40 minutes to pull out that gamy blood taste, My husband and I love the gamy taste of meat but my kids don't ... This stew is perfect for cold days or weekends where you can make this in the morning in a crockpot and have a amazing meal at night.
