Hey guys! I do four miles a day, but after that, I'm exhausted. I always plan to do more toning, but never get to it!
Is it better to cut a mile and only do three so I have more energy to tone up, or suck it up and push myself to do the whole four, and then tone up? ![:) :)](https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/resources/emoji/smile.png)

I would keep your running and toning days separate. I know when I'm done running the last thing I want to do is lift some weights.0

When you say tone up, do you mean strength training? If so, I say cut a mile and tone up. The toning will even help you with the running!0

I like both idea. I like to get my walking/running in on the same day I do my strength training. Im exhausted but i feel like i accomplished more. But I also see the benefits of splitting them into different days. You need time to recover from runs and strength training, so switching off will give you that time.0
