Insanity (restart)

I am planning on restarting insanity...I started back at the beginning of September. I would do 3 insanity workouts a week because I still wanted to go to my group fitness classes at the gym. I have completed all the way through "day 17" of the insanity calendar. I want to restart it because I feel like I now know the program a little better.
I also was not following the nutrition guide. I have had others tell me they had great success, even without following the food guide. I want to do my best to do insanity every day and following the nutrition guidelines. I usual eat between 1300-1500 calories a day and I never changed my macros. I used to believe the 1200 calories was a good thing (yes, yes, I know...not such a grand idea - at least not for me).
This week I changed my food goals to 1,972 (based on insanity elite food guide) and changed my macros to 40/35/25. I don't plan on eating my calories back. Am I on the right track with this? What are your thoughts as far as the food guide, restarting, and changing my macros? Thanks!

Awesome welcome back lol and I am following the meal guide I lost 4 lbs the first week but I had to up my calories this week because I wasn't getting enough I had it set at 1800 insanity guide set it for 2200 so I am now following it again I gained 2 lbs back but. It could be water weight or poor nutrition too but I def swear by the nutrition guide it helped me last year then again very one is different you'll know what works for you and well keep us posted hope to be seeing you here often0

Thank you! I haven't weighed myself since "upping" my calories. I have noticed that I am hungrier now than I was before. I am eating the 5 small meals, as the plan suggests. Just a little nervous about increasing my calories, since all I ever read is about decreasing calories to loose weight.0

Me too I felt the same I was nervous about upping them too especially because I'm struggling with thyroid issues so I gain weight easily and I'm also doin depo shots but before I wasn't exercising not eating well and I just stayed at 165 so after 2 weeks of insanity I went down to 161 btw the scale my worst enemy hopped on it this morning I was back at 161 today so it played nice lol0

Welcom Speazzy
Like you, I am hungrier after starting insanity. I have read a lot of blogs who state they have gained weight according to the scale, but LOST INCHES... so I recommend getting your measurements just in case the scale doesn't move. The first time I did insanity, the scale didn't change, but my measurements did. I also didn't follow the diet plan. It seems like a good idea, but I am horrible with diets lol!0 -
Yeah like ing stated go by inches I'm currently using a scale due to no tape measurer at the moment but I know the scale will move since I have alot of fat to lose now if your closer to your goal weight go by inches and at times you can hit a plateau because you don't have much fat to burn so you start building muscle0
