Hi,
I'm more than halfway through stage 1 and this morning decided to take some measurements as I was curious. I measured under bust, waist and abdomen and they've all gone up by a cm or two!!! I'm so disheartened. I thought that the scale might go up but I expected a decrease on the measuring tape! This happen to anyone else? Any advice or words of wisdom?

Do you tighten the measuring tape so it is snug or keep it lose, there is a margin of error using tape measures as well. Also, measurement sites may be different each time so you get a slightly different measurement. What is your weight doing? Is it increasing as well? You may consider decreasing your calories but if it was me, I would wait it out a few weeks and see if it was just variations in measurements VS actual fat gain.0

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I think I'm just going to wait a few weeks and then measure again after a week or so's rest. I measured the day after lifting so maybe I was holding water.
I've been pretty good as regards calories in. Not eating as clean as I could but calories in are usually lower than calories out. I'm eating about 1700 a day and adding more for exercise calories. My weight has gone up a tiny bit which I was expecting but wasn't expecting the measurements to increase.0 -
My measurements have increased as well, but I LOOK better. I've gained an inch on each thigh and bicep, but there's pretty much no jiggle whatsoever anymore and lots of definition compared to what I had. It's terribly disheartening to see the numbers go up, but at least my reflection cheers me up now.
Give it some time. Your weight and measurements will increase and decrease depending on water retention, sodium intake, hormones, and a million other things, but eventually you'll see persistence paying off.0
