Hi, I have just downloaded the app and I am nervous but ready to give it a go!
I used to run, about 7 or 8 years ago, although i never got very far with it, i just about managed to run 5k on a good day. Since then, I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and i gave up all the sports i used to do, and have put on a lot of weight, and become very unfit.
I have recently started feeling better, and i have begun to do some very slow runs with the dog, and i have just downloaded the c25k app. I have had a look at it, and i think i can manage the first couple of weeks, but i am not sure that i am going to be able to do a 5k run anytime soon, but i am willing to suspend disbelief and give it a go!
But i will be looking on here and reading all the advice and tips I can find!

You'll do great! Just follow the program and remember to slow down if you need too!!!! Congrats on taking the first step!0

Fibromyalgia is really hard to manage, and I can't offer any insight/advice on running with it.
I can tell you that I was totally sure that I would fail at some point in the program...and I graduated last year.
The good news is that you don't have to do the whole program. Just go out and do today's run. If you can do that, you'll probably be able to do your next session in a couple of days.0 -
If you are already doing small runs with the dog I don't think you'll have any problems. I was also nervous before starting and I have now nearly finished week 3, and already feeling fitter. You can do it!0

Just take it easy and do what you can.
Push yourself to get stronger, but, by all means, do not injure yourself.
If your fibromyalgia starts giving you trouble again, back off a little or take a day or two off until you can get back at it. But don't give up, ever!
Congrats on taking those first steps, and here's hoping you can get this without too much pain.
Good luck!0 -
Thanks everyone. Ive completed week 1 session 2 today and so far so good, and no flare up! ????0

Great job! Do what you can each day that you can. You'll get there in the end.0

You can do it! I am just on week 3, and it's taken me 5 weeks due to some knee pain. I never thought I could do this, but I love it already. You will surprise yourself! The first run, I thought I might possibly die, but surprisingly, the second one was better and the third day was actually almost easy. Good luck!0
