We've got a new week starting, add your stats when you get to your weigh in day :) It's all good :)

SW 198 MFP SW 184.2
LW 180.8
TW 180.0
Short term goal: 165.8

average daily steps 5837, total distance 16.85 miles, total calories burned 13,839

It shows my steps/distance down from last week but I am a good bit over what I was when I started at MFP so I am happy with that. My goal was to make it to a daily average of 5000 steps which I did and my weight is down so I'm happy. I will continue with the set goals and start making eating plans for next week which will get me thru Thanksgiving pot luck at the office on Tues and then GBL so that by the time the events arrive, I will be all set to handle it without a weight gain that week. I've decided to bring turkey with me as well as veggies and that should help a great deal when it comes time to eat as they will just consider I'm enjoyng my left overs and not be offended if I don't chose their ham or other less healthy options :) I think I'm also going to introduce them to a breakfast quiche and see how that goes... certainly better than sweet cinnamon buns like last time and I think the kids will love quiche. Anyways, trying to think it all out now as I'm a "gotta plan ahead" girl.

light, sounds like you have a good plan to get through Thanksgivng. And, congrats on your increased steps and loss!

    Here's my weigh-in from yesterday:

    SW: 156
    LW: 131.8
    TW 132.8

: P Think it's water weight from high sodium intake. My plan is to stay as active as possible and to getto 129 by the end of the year. Family coming this weekend to stay a week for Thanksgiving. Hopefuly, chasing grandkids will help keep the steps up.

cut back on your salt... and enjoy those little grandkids!~ I'm really looking forward to being with mine again next week. Here's hoping for a lot of active time for both of us, and not so much sit and watch them play time :)

Just taking a moment to announce that my new BodyMedia Core arrived yesterday, I got it charged and set up last night, and so today is my start of better, more accurate accounting for me. Yeah!

    Hello all,

I just uploaded the BodyMedia core for the first time, and I think that my burn is a little less than it was with the V3 Bodybugg--not a lot, but you know just 100 calories a day can make a big difference over time. So perhaps this, coupled with my not adding my balance item of 200 calories a day is why I was stuck.

Hope all is well with everyone. I'm still battling this cold, but still able to work and get a walk in. Today, I also had a bad backache, which is an odd thing for me, but I decided to head to the mall anyway just to see if walking helped or hindered. I was happy to find that it helped, and another woman who walks in the mall, and whom I've become friends with, was also there. We joined up and she and I keep up a good pace for an hour, so I broke 9000 steps for the day, even though I spent a huge part of it on my behind at this desk.

way to go with the steppin' :) I was worn out by 6:30, did my biking and went to bed. My steps for yesterday stank. I'll have to do some extra walking tonight to balance it out so I can get my 5000/day average when it comes report time :P

Glad you got your new bug. I imagine it will make a lot of difference to you and get you back into the swing of things again.

    Helloooooo Ladies!!!!

    SW: 238
    LW: 203.4
    TW: 204.2
    STGW: 199 - by Nov 28
    GW: 140

Dag nab.!! Wrong direction, but I really can't complain. I did allow a lot of sweets to enter my mouth last saturday and I've not been working out like I should...and I've had migraines all week, which have had me in bed very early and medicated. So, it doesn't appear I will be reaching my goal by Thanksgiving. Right now, I'm also ok with that. I've had so many things on my mind that my bp has skyrocketed and the migraines have been trying to get me to slow down and calm down. Doing better this morning, but I've got to take it easy on the stressing.

MRI results disclosed that I do not have any tears or damage in the groin/hip area, so hopefully, post op with the knee and getting my walking back to normal and increasing the stretching again as well will help alleviate the pain and discomfort. I just want the pain to end!! Surgery is after Thanksgiving, so I will be on the road to recovery and mobile by the time my daughter and son in law get here for Christmas!!

Thanksgiving is being held at my home and so I do have a lot of input on the menu...and I have healthy options that I'm making - an extra turkey (hubby loves him his left overs AND he only eats white meat). We're having 22 people (2) turkey, roast, chicken and ham as proteins and hubby requested additional so that he's sure to have his left overs. Plus I can also make turkey pot pie for my recovery and that will aid in calorie control that week as well. And no, I'm not preparing all of the food, we've split it among all of the families coming. So super fun! One turkey, one ham, green beans, yams, and roasted veggies is all I have to prepare...easy peasy. I've begun washing the dishes from the hutch....I'm on track.

Weather - holy crud are we getting rained on here this weekend. We've already had over an inch in the past 12 hours. Hoping it slows down and stops as I had plans of cleaning the backyard and mowing my newly planted winter grass on Sunday. Oh and our high is in the 50's!!! Funny how we were 110+ just 70 days ago. I will train tomorrow morning and then home cleaning and getting everything ready for the holiday (floors, carpets and lots and lots of dishes). And basic meal prep for the short week.

Sarah - so happy you have your new bugg!!! Light - great planning - Sheesh - peek a boo...

    Have a great weekend!!

oh dear... Lois, gotta watch those sweets and hang in there. You've done okay so far, don't let yourself get derailed here at a time when you are already vulnerable and not able to exercise. Glad you have some control over the foods but even more glad that you have some help getting it all cooked and pulled together since you are still dealing with your injuries. Even happier that the MRI didn't show any additional problems. Yeah. :) Hang in there, do what you can and be careful while you are waiting for the surgery.

Sarah, hope you are feeling better by now... at least a little if not totally.

I'm trying to get the house and chores in order while watching tv and finding it hard since I keep wanting to watch instead of work, LOL. Usually I can listen while working but for some reason today, the shows are such I want to see what is on screen. Oh my... but the laundry is done, my holiday scrubs have been pulled out and I can iron while watching the end of this program :) Need to run the electric broom and steamer next though... always so much to do on a weekend.

    Hi, all,

Great news about the MRI, Lois. A knee is enough, and I know you'll be glad to get the repair and get on your way. You've been dealing with injuries for so long, and I know how much you love being active.

My cold is almost gone--just a little residual stuffiness and cough. It's freezing cold here in the metro DC area, but I forced myself out of the warm house and into the cold car to get up to the mall to walk. There were lots of walkers there tonight, including two I've made good friends with. Such fun. I wanted to stay longer, but had told hubby I'd be back around a certain time.

Tomorrow we're expecting sleet and freezing rain, but hopefully the roads will be okay by the time I get off work so I can get a good walk in and perhaps a little extra to help make up for the fact that I'll probably get limited activity in on Thanksgiving. The mall will be closed during the day (as it should be!), and although it's opening at 8 p.m., I'll be doing volunteer work that night and it will most likely be too crowded for walking anyway. So I have two days to get in a few extra miles.

Tomorrow is weigh in day for some of us. I hope that we have some good things to report. I really don't know what to expect. We had Greek food on Saturday which always causes me to retain water for a day or two, so I've avoided the scales for the past few days. Just didn't want to get in a negative mood.

Well, I'm beat, and tomorrow is another day.

Just a quick pop in to say HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!

I took a quick sneak peek at the scale this morning and I'm holding. Not up, not down, just holding. I can handle that.

House is ready and I'll start working on preparing food tonight, and yes, I do have some healthy choices to aid in filling this tummy of mine and we're planning an adult vs kids tball game post meal in the back yard (ages 3-8 - should be fun). Planning a couple of activities so that we don't fall into the too much food coma that usually occurs after such a big meal. Super excited to have everyone at our home. Mother in law arrives today (ok - her stuff is deadly). She brings with her foods we don't get her because she stops at the Filipino markets just before leaving and brings snackies. THOSE are going to be hard to resist. I did give her specifics on what to bring (and a request on what NOT to bring), but I don't know if hubby asked for the other fried stuff or not - he won't say.

Sarah - so happy you've got your new gadget up and running! Find ways to keep moving.
Light and Sheesh - have fun with those grandbabies (not quite as envious this round as I do get to keep my surrogate grandson (5) overnight Thanksgiving and possibly even Friday -depending on my energy level - haha).
IQuilt - have a great weekend and stay focused

My official weigh in day is Friday - good grief!! I will attempt to log in and post an update. If I don't, I'll catch up with everyone post op!!

    Happy Thanksgiving!!!
