So, I am doing the Beast Body program and I am in the Bulk phase, which has your macro nutrients at 50% carbs, 25% fat, and 25% protein. But when I set these appropriately in my goals on MFP, the math does not add up?? for 2700 calories a day it gives me 338g of carbs, 75g of fat, and 169g of protein. Now I am no mathamatician, but 169 does not equal 75. and 75+169 most definitely don't equal 338. So what am I missing? Any explanation is appreciated. I just want to make sure I am eating the right amounts to reach my full potential in the program. Thanks!

    This is all connected with the calories per gram of the macro nutrient.
    1g Fat = 9 cal
    1g Protien = 4 cal.
    1g Carb = 4 cal.

    Therefore the macro split for 2700 cals is as below.
    CARB = 50% of 2700 = 1350 Cals, divide by 4 to get the weight = 338g
    FAT = 25% of 2700 = 675 Cals, divide by 9 to get the weight = 75g
    PORTIEN = 25% of 2700 = 675 Cals, divide by 4 to get the weight = 168g

    So MFP is right, its just the conversion factor which causes confusion as they are not all equal.

    Hope that helps!

    this is right
    I use a higher protein percentage and carb higher but fats lower
    a good ballanced diet IMO would be 40% protein 40% carbs 20% fats
