NFL Style - jennicole4 (left elbow) questionable. Lol.

My elbow was sore yesterday and today it is slightly swollen and hurts worse. I'm pretty sure I hyper-extended it doing spider lunges on Friday. I am worried that it won't be better by tomorrow, but I don't want to get off schedule. Anyone have any suggestions? Monday is Cardio. Should I modify the planks and do them all with my forearms down instead of in the push-up position? I want to get the most out of the workouts until my arm is better and I don't really need to modify like Tanya. What do you guys think? This sucks!

Do whatever will not make your arm hurt. If you have to get a little "less" of a workout for a while then that's what you have to do. Otherwise you'll just make it worse and end up missing more time off exercising.
Make sure you take Advil and ice it!

Have you iced it? As for working out do not do planks for a few days! Modify any weight bearing arm moves. I would recommend an ace bandage while you are working out if only to remind you to be careful how you move/extend the arm.

In place of: Spider Lunges try a standing mountain climber raising your knee to the side (more of a standing Spider Lunge)
Lunge and burpees - follow Tonya's modified burpee lunge
Plank ups - V sit ups to the same tempo in V with arms extended two counts up two counts back

Basically, you can move anything from a plank to an upright - just think about the body area being targeted for the exercise and think of how it could be done standing.

Hope this helps, praying that you heal quickly!

Thanks for the suggestions guys! The arm still hurts today, so I guess I will be modifying more than I'd like. :grumble: I have not iced it because it's been SO cold here, I just can't bring myself to do it! I have been taking Ibuprophen. The ace bandage is a good idea just so I remember not to do too much. I'll keep you updated!
