Calorie Goal?

So this may be a dumb question, but what should our calorie goal / day be? 2000? Are there other goals that we should set up (protein, fat, etc.)?
The whole not eating bread or "bad stuff" makes sense, but as far as goal setting for nutrition goes...I have no idea.

I played around with this calculator to set my eating goals.

I came up with 2500 cal/day
250 g of carbs
156 g of protein
97g of fat
And I'm only tracking carbs, protein, fat and calories, NOT SUGAR! If I track sugar I tend to limit my carbs and feel guilty for eating an apple. Not doing that!
I have a suspicion that I am not eating enough. So this is what I'm looking to get out of my fitness pal this time around. To see if I'm providing my body enough fuel, enough quality fuel, to maintain the intensity of our workouts.0
