I did it!

I had sleeve surgery yesterday. After the surgery, I struggled a bit, but I'm feeling much better now! I can't wait to continue my health journey!

It is hard to soar like an eagle when weight makes you slow like a turkey. Congrats on the first step to a healthier life

Glad you feel better, and good luck.
  • Congratulations on the surgery and hope your recovery goes smoothly. Please keep posting on your journey. I finally got a surgery date for Feb 12 - almost a year to the day when I started trying to get approved by insurance. So now am now watching others with recent surgery and rooting for them and success!
  • Congrats! I'll be getting sleeved on Dec 3rd! I'm sooooooooo excited! :)

I'm two days past surgery now and I'm doing really well. The gas pains are kinda difficult to deal with, but hopefully they'll be gone in the next day or two. I'm not really feeling that hungry and I didn't have too much difficulty watching everyone eat their Thanksgiving dinner. I imagine it may get harder as I get closer to the end of the first two weeks (liquids only). I will admit to being in somewhat of a state of shock after it was over. I kept thinking how strange it was that my stomach was mostly gone and how I can't believe I had gone through with it. Like many of you said, I'll be happy in the long run and I'm glad I did it. But this surgery is not a cop-out. It is some serious hard work with hopefully a rewarding payoff.

Yes it is seriou hard work. Meal shared with family Canberra a continuos battle. My aunt brought cookies, fudge to our house cause she "knows"I don't have any good stuff here. Now she ants to leave the here. I used to argue with this, but to her food is an expression of love. So, I will keep mouth shut and throw them out after she leaves!

GasX has dissolvable strips that are awesome for fixing this.
