Induction - Lack of appetite

Hi,
I've been on induction for a week now, and sticking to everything, and I've noticed that I don't feel hungry at all.
At first this was OK, as I have suffered from binge eating for the past 7 years (I would eat four chocolate cakes in one go, e.g.!)
But now I am struggling to eat - I it's like I don't have any appetite, which is a consequence of cutting sugar out altogether.
I was surprised when I logged into mfp and I only ate approx. 980 cals yesterday... I actually forgot to eat lunch - HELP!!!

Good morning Ms. Catarina!
Welcome to ketosis! That's a pretty common side effect / benefit. However, you have got to eat your meals and keep your body from going into starvation mode. And at first, absolutely it can be very difficult to eat. I had to make myself eat lunch and dinner until I was "in the groove" and then I switched to "eat when I was hungry", which by that point had balanced out to five small meals per day for a total between 1400 - 1600 calories / day. During my first two weeks I had to set reminders to eat on my phone, it helped.
You don't have to each very much, but skipping meals will lead to a breakdown. Atkins does not work as a low cal / low fat diet.
Congratulations though, for your resolve in sticking to it. Quite simply, it works if you follow the book to the letter.
Be well, be safe, eat your lunch! and have a great day!0
