Ho Ho Ho Happy Holidays. I cannot beleive it is December already. This will be a challenge. I love holiday foods and beverages. And then an inclusive week in the carribean also means a lot of alochol. I am in big trouble. I will do my best. I hope you all enjoy your December.

December!!!!! My birthday tomorrow, my best friends birthday the 21st, Christmas Eve and Christmas. So many activities

As for celebrating, I'm not, haha. We cleared out and organized one of our spare bedrooms into a dressing/storage room. The 2nd of the 3 spare rooms is going to be for baby and at some point we'll set up the 3rd spare room as an office/work out room. Today is housework day so that means laundry and cleaning the floors. Might get some gift wrapping done as well

Happy December one and all!!! :drinker: I'm cheering with my faux wine

happy birthday (early) Kat! This next year is going to be an exciting one for you!

Thanks for the timely start to December's thread Robin. I with you, it seems like we were just all talking about Halloween, and now here it is December!

Western WA is in for some wild weather, relatively warm but blustery and rainy. Temps to take a dive later today and some parts of the region will most likely see snow.

Fun times- only three more weeks and the days will start to get longer!

    Happy birthday kat!

The son just left....his visit went by way too fast.
The good news is he'll be back in 15 days.

I did pretty well with the eating but drank a lot. I'm hungover so I'll start with the 0's today and hopefully rack up a few more this week.
Time for me to get in holiday mode...I'll put up the decorations this week.

Mama Lush, thanks for starting the new December thread...and I cannot believe I'm writing DECEMBER! Seriously?! I'm in total shock at how fast the months have seemed to fly by! I better get Christmas shopping.....

Kat, Happy Birthday tomorrow! How fun!

Ryzeman, I'm used to crazy weather here in Kansas. Today we were at about 55, tomorrow-Tuesday will be in the 60's and then it takes a dive and we're supposed to be having snow & highs of 25-30 for the weekend. Ugh.

SoCal, visits just seem to fly by, don't they? At least 15 days will be by in no time!!

I absolutely LOVE long weekends, but I do not look forward to a full week of work. Nor do I really look forward to my weekends in the month of December. Every single one of them will be spent out of town...then I'm just exhausted on Sundays from driving home. Oh well.

Happy beginning of December lushes! Hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving!!

I've fallen so far off the wagon, this month will be an exercise in honesty if not control.

I've had a total of nearly 20 people in this house for over 4 days. I love them dearly but am happy to wave goodbye to their cars as they roll off.

    I CAN BARELY MOVE TODAY....

Ron and I have decided to do minimal alcohol for the Month of December...Goal is to have a low number at the end of the month. We shall see!!

    Dec 1st - 3 beers at restaurant
    Dec 4th - 2 to 3 drinks at daughter's birthday dinner
    Dec 14th - Bowling
    Dec 24th - X-mas Eve
Dec 25th - Lushy day of mimosas and wine
    Dec 28th - Bowling
Dec 31th - I work until 11:30 so will be at a minimum

Thank you all so much for the birthday wishes =} It certainly brightens up a cold and rainy day like today  Oh how I love my lushes   Hope everyone has a drink or two for this pregnant birthday girl!! :drinker:

Barbara we all fall sometimes but the good thing is we have each other to help us get back up and get to it so jump back on that wagon and good luck!!

SoCal the way this entire year has flown by and especially now with the holidays 15 days will feel like one!! I love how close you and your son are though, I hope my little girl and I are the same way

Ryze and bgrune, I'm with ya on the crazy weather. New England is famous for it. We have 30 degree days followed by 60 degree days, I've always lived here though so I just take in stride!

Happy Birthday Kat, I will drink wine for you.

I hate coming back to work after a holiday. I have been so busy today this is my first chance to even stop to scarf some food. at least the day flies by. I love taking lunch and then only having an hour left to work in the day.

Gary, the weather was bizarre driving in this morning. Hail and then nothing and then slushy rain and then nothing. I hope the roads aren't too crazy when I leave.

Syd, it never gets any easier when it comes to missing our kids as they grow up. I can't wait to see my girls at the end of December.

Welcome back Barbara. We are always here for you.

    Have an awesome day y'all.

    Mornin' Kids!!!!

    Happy Happy (belated) Birthday Kat!

Had a great 4day weekend and yesterday was tough getting back into the swing of things. Work is super busy, good thing...bad thing!!!

Last night I said F it and kept the party going...3 cherry vodkas and sprite zero.
Not sure about the rest of the week. We have another beer event saturday, which the thought of exhausts me, but I am sure I will be feeling up to it by saturday

I need to get my butt back into gear. I haven't worked out since last tuesday....well I walked yesterday but need to get back with the weights. I was too sleepy this morning to get up...I am going to muster up some energy and get something done tonight!

    Keep on keeping on!!!

Hey Kate! Glad you had a great 4 day weekend!! It is sure tough getting back into the swing of things! I LOVE 4 day weekends, but hate them at the same time. I'm always soooo tired coming back to work. LOL.

I had 0 last night. And 0's until Friday night. I'm really starting to get upset because I've really been more consicous (sp?) and have cut down my drinking (to maybe 1 or 2 one night in the week, but usually all 0's until Friday), and I've worked out more in the past 2 months than I have in a long, long time...and yet, I'm more or less staying at the exact same weight. I don't know what else I can do. I haven't been eating horribly or anything, and I'm just upset. I shouldn't let a number determine my mood, but that is just how it is today. Pity party for 1 right here!!

Hey lushes. I drank plenty over Thanksgiving. I managed to run a hungover 5 miler in about 50 minutes Thanksgiving morning. Thank God for mp3 players..... Drank too much Thanksgiving and Saturday as well. We returned home last night and had my first 0 since last Monday I think. Probably another tonight. My pants feel a little snug and I could stand to save some calories. I have 7 Christmas/party events over the next 19 days......Bring on the booze!

    Happy December all!

Drank plenty over the holiday weekend and again last night during MNF (Go Seahawks!) Planning a 0 tonight and tomorrow night, and then it's off to California for my husbands work X-mas party where its guaranteed to not be a 0 all weekend :)

    Have a great week everyone.

Looks like the lushes are out in full force! Good to see everyone.

I had 2 glasses of red last night. Hope to moderate somewhat this week and maybe even get a few 0's. I exercised yesterday when all I felt like doing was sitting on my *kitten*, so I was proud.

Sydney, way to go working out instead of doing what you felt like! LOL. I did just sat on my *kitten* instead of working out...BUT I am going to go to the gym tonight!! I'm determined to at least maintain my weight through the holidays since weight loss isn't happening.

3 glasses of red wine while watching the 'Hawks chew up the Saints. I didn't do much motivating because of the crazy work day I had yesterday. I am sure motivation is out there somewhere. I might actually have to look a little harder for it.

    Dec 1st - 3 beers at restaurant
Dec 2nd- 3 beers at restaurant
    Dec 3rd - 0

    Dec 14th - Bowling
    Dec 24th - X-mas Eve
Dec 25th - Lushy day of mimosas and wine
    Dec 28th - Bowling
Dec 31th - I work until 11:30 so will be at a minimum

    Total: 6

    - plus, I got off my fat *kitten* for a 5K at the gym - timed at 45 minutes - fat, fat, *kitten* :grumble:

My sister wants me to do the 1/2 marathon at the Kentucky Derby. I am thinking that 4 months might be doable. I don't know but this girl needs something to push, push, push.

All signed up for Warrior Dash as well in 2014....goal there is to climb every damn wall!!

Kim, a 5k at 45 minutes is still great! That is more than you would've done if you were sitting on the couch!! :) I'm trying to get into running. I'm doing C25K. Can't say that I am a "fan" of running, but I'm slowly getting better at it....without nearly dying by the end of it!

I made it to the Y tonight even after nearly talking myself out of it & I am sure glad I went! I did 35 minutes on the elliptical, 10 on the arc trainer and then 15 minutes (1.2 miles) on the treadmill. Not too shabby of a night! And will be 0 drinks tonight!! All 0's until Friday! WOO HOO!

So glad tomorrow is already Wednesday!!

    Dec 1-1 ale
Dec 2-2 glasses sparkling shiraz, 2 glasses of red
Dec 3-2 really teensy glasses of red at council meeting

Thanks Kat and Robyn for the welcome back.

Back to work today after 5 days off. Brutal. One laptop dead due fan error, another has to be taken off network due a Trojan, but since it's in LA and I'm in Idaho, I can't fix it remotely if it's off network. Yuck.

Neither walking nor dancing today but did huff and puff up the stairs. You gals with your 5Ks don't know how awesome that is. Takes me a whole minute to go up just one flight, one breath per step. When I get into the office people look like they're about to dial 911 and get the defib. It WILL get easier. It WILL.:ohwell:

I ended up having a beer because I cannot sleep and it might help since I am so used to copious amounts at this point and my body is like, "WTF".

Bridget - thanks for the encouragement. I decided to just skip the whole C25K. I find the starting and stopping is harder than just doing it at a slower pace. My overall pace was 4.1 on the treadmill with no incline. Good job on getting it done at the Y!!

Barbara - you are just so plain witty and I love your posts!! When I take the stairs at work I think I am going to have a coronary as well.

I will try and make yoga tomorrow for some stretching...but, if I don't fall asleep soon - I will be royally screwed!!

DO IT! DO IT! DO IT! And then meet me for a beer. :drinker: That's my city! I may never run another mini again, but I really enjoyed that race. It's flat and you get to run through Churchill Downs while they're training horses and running them on the track. Cool race.

    Monday - 0
    Tuesday - 0
Wednesday - planning on a 0. Eric is gone till around 8 tonight. I'm running because it's going to be in the 60s today. If I just don't stop for a bottle of wine, I should be good since there's nothing in the house I want to drink.....

Another 3 cocktails last night. Maybe more tonight. I just can't kick this laziness....walked the last two nights and probably a walk tonight since I stayed in bed AGAIN this morning. I am enjoying the fact that it is nice enough again to be outside, even if it is dark out, but I feel wimpy and need to pick up some weights...maybe tomorrow???!!!

Wednesday YIPPY! Work has been keeping me so busy the days have been flying by. Time to grab some coffee and get this *kitten* started for the day!!

Barbara, at least you take the stairs! I work on the 3rd floor of my building & I do not take them. I only do if there is a creeper getting on the elevator with me, and then I almost die by the time I get into the office. LOL. Plus I have a habit of falling down the stairs so people completely understand why I avoid stairs at all costs! I'm Queen Klutz...always a bruise somewhere!

Kim, I completely understand the skipping the C25K. I have stopped & started it so many times it is ridiculous! I'm doing okay so far, but we shall see how long I keep it up! I get to a point where I just really decide I hate running & just quit...then start all over again to give it ANOTHER try...oh well.

Kate, at least you're doing something & that is what matters!

It is nice & cold today, but I still plan on going to the Y tonight & then tomorrow it is supposed to snow & be 25 for the high. Either I'll work out at home, but I really plan on going to hot yoga tomorrow night...then I will sleep like a baby!! Another 0 for tonight!

Bridget, I hate the starting and stopping within the program weeks 1 to 3 - I'd rather just do a slower pace and chug along. Maybe, if you hate running, it's not the thing for you. Have you tried the classes at the Y - I used to love the Zumba and Tabata. Those are huge calorie burners.

Anyway if you like hip-hop music - there's a C25K on kissmyblackass.com that is actually music you know and can get thru quickly.

I admire you runners! I can't do it..too much stress on the ol knees and joints. (I have a ton of old sports injuries ) I do miss my pool now that its winter here (its still heated but I'll be damnd if i'm gunna get out of an 82 degree pool into anything less than 70 degree air temps lol) Yes I'm a wimp.
I managed another good day of exercise yesterday but also had 2 glasses of wine. My sleep hasn't been great and I don't know why. I'm up a good chunk of the night..I hate sleep issues. :grumble:

Weight workout today...that usually helps me sleep. we'll see.
I will say this week is going by pretty fast.

Kim, now that you put it like that, I fully agree with that. I guess I just never really thought about that. Maybe I'll give that a try tonight and see how long I can run for. My friend always wants to meet me at the Y and workout with me, and I feel horrible cause I am someone who needs music & to zone out when I workout & she wants to chat...which I can't do. So I never want to go with her. I'm better when I concentrate on my workout & only that.

Bridget, not sure if this helps but I did -

4.1 pace for 1/3 of a 5K with a one-minute recovery and did the same when I hit the 2/3 mark...I didn't concentrate on speed but just endurance so I wouldn't get frustrated.

If I can do it, I know that you can as well. :drinker: :drinker:

I agree - I'd rather work out alone than with someone; but I like when someone pushes you to go

Sydney - I always find it harder to strip down in the cold to get in the hot tub than when I get out - but, I guess the difference is the hot tub is 101 vs. the 82. I am nice and boiled when I get out. LOL
