Fixed the pictures. I think it is doable. Go for it.

Your before and afters are pretty close to what mine are (I was bigger in the before pictures though). I lost over 50lbs, started walking and then started running (nothing crazy-couple miles a time), to get my stomach where it's at now. It's still not super tight, but I've started Mark Lauren's strength training program last week (at home, no extra equipment), and eventually it will get there :) Also, I had to lose 17 more pounds than my original goal weight, to get where I am right now and my bmi had to get down to 19ish.

If you're interested in an at home strength program I really love Mark's plan, laid out in his book Body By You. It's specifically for women and it starts out slow and then builds up nicely. You don't need any equipment except for things like a table ledge etc. It's a really great program for those of us who are brand new to strength training and are a bit overwhelmed by the whole thing lol. It's also only three days a week, for 30 minutes.

He has a second book, You are Your Own Gym, and that's for both men and women, but is a step up in difficulty (I think it does things like regular pull ups, push ups etc etc, whereas Body By You does modified versions of these things). I'm going to do that one next and then we'll see what happens after that :) Both books are cheap, under $20, and my local library also has them.
  • wow, im going to look into it, thank you so much!!!

There is an iPhone app for "You are your own gym". Easy to follow but cost $2.99 (cheaper than the book).

Both the programs mentioned are good if you do not have access to equipment.

Regarding your specific question - it depends. Mainly on genetics as well as how long you have been overweight for, how overweight you were, your age and your ability to lose BF and where you lose it from, which is also based on genetics.

Keep losing the body fat (caloric deficit) and do some strength training...then have patience.
  • i was never really too big. i was 145 and am now 123. (im also 5'0)
  • I was wondering, do you think I'll be able to get my belly like yours? Reason i ask is before i had my son, 4 years ago, i was always skinny, but always had a pooch. at that time, i never dieted or exercised because i didn't care much then (i used to eat A LOT and always be thin. 115 pounds.) but do you think ill get rid of the pooch and become flatter? or will i just become like that again? sorry, its a strange question, but ive always wondered this.

I got a flat stomach by cutting back on calories. But, compare my picture with Sarauk2sf's and you can see the difference between a flat stomach, and a flat stomach that's pure awesome  Start with diet/weight loss, but strength training is a great idea too. Even starting small, with an at home program, will get you progress :)

Strength training at any time is a good idea too (I kind of wish I had started earlier, but I had to do this whole thing in baby steps).

not to be rude to anyone, but i really like the way yours look and id like to be like that :)

    Thank you Twixlepennie :flowerforyou:

OP - absolutely no offense taken. We all have (and should have) personal preferences as to what we want to look like.
