So...don't really know what to ask Santa for Christmas? You might not know it, but Santa Claus runs during his time off. He is actually a skinny man, but he flies to the most coldest parts of the world and his jacket makes him look so huge. No? Huh...well sounded good to me.

Anyway...

Runner's tend to be a loyal breed....so before you go buying items, make sure you find out the person's favorite brands. Me? I like Pearl Izumi, Brooks, or Nathan Sports...hint hint. But, anyway, focus on that brand and then go from there. Here are my top C25K Christmas Gifts for 2013 (most have been tried or observed by me and some are stolen from Runner's World guide and modified):

1. Road ID
Had carrying your driver's license or state ID around with you when you run? Scared it might get lost? Or do you not carry ID? Then think about Road ID. They have several colors, designs, and options available, ranging from dog tag style to shoe tags. Road ID provides first responders or good sams with your name, emergency contact, allergies, etc.... And, if you decide to do the online version, emergency personnel and hospital staff can plug a pass code in and get a full medical history. Costs range from $14 to $30 and are available at roadid.com

2. A headband
Look for one that is light weight. washable, and durable. It should cover the ears easily and NOT made of cotton. Runner's World has Janji's as the example. Proceeds go to provide fresh drinking water in Tanzania. http://runjanji.com/

3. Bib display
Planning on continuing running 5Ks, 10Ks, HM, etc....? Save your bibs and put them on display in either a poster or frame style wall hanging, turn them into coasters, or put them into a binder and put them on display for everyone to see your accomplishments. You can even get combo displays that hang medals as well, such as this one that is available at http://www.etsy.com.

4. Running flasks or bottles
Do you sometimes drop your water bottle? I know I used to, until I got one designed specifically for running. Now I use mine on the treadmill, outside running, and I have even used it hiking because of how I can attach a clip to it so easily. The one I have is a Nathan's 16 oz. It has a small pocket that could fit an iPhone, but Galaxies might be a bit too big. But the pouch easily holds ids, money, or any small tiny bits that you run with (band aids for HMs for example). They are inexpensive, $10 - $30 depending on the brand, design, etc.. and you can find these any where, even at Marshall's on sale.

5. Socks
Trust me, a runner can never have too many pairs of running socks. My suggestion? Balega's. Even RW suggests Balega's. Why? Because they are durable, are awesome at preventing blisters, and they feel great on your feet. Balega's aren't available at places like Sports Authority or ****'s Sporting goods, but I have seen them at Fleet Feet and specialty running stores, as well as available for order online. They are made in South Africa, where human cheetahs come from anyway...and you know they know about running lol. These usally run about $10-14 per pair, but are totally worth it, and come in no show, crew cuts, and compression styles.

6. Iron on reflective designs
You a crafty do it yourself clothing maker person? Have a favorite shirt you like to run in but it doesn't have any reflectiveness on it so you don't wear it at night? Get some iron on relective designs from iondesigns.ca.
