measurement question

I have been losing weight and finally started tracking my measurements about every 2 weeks since November. I have lost inches or fractions of inches everywhere but in my calves. I only just started walking yesterday otherwise have not done any regular exercise aside from normal household chores and chopping more vegetables. So I don't think exercise accounts for the increase of an inch or so in my calves. Any ideas?
I do have a diagnosis of fibromyalgia and severe arthritis in every joint that has been checked but the increase is not in a specific joint but a few inches below my knees.

Might be water retention. Try watching your salt content. Ask your doctor too. If you just started walking it may solve your problem.0

I have a regular schedule doctor appointment on Friday. I plan on asking him but don't know that I know the right questions to ask. I am hoping for some insight so I can have a knowledgeable discussion on what I need to do or not do etc.0

Are you sure you have been measuring in the same place?
How often have you measured?
Calves are funny things...they tend to be a bit more based on genetics and many people do not lose inches from them - or at least lose disproportionately slower than the rest of them.0 -
Might be water retention.. i usually get pain and tendernrss in that particular area when i m dealing with fatigue. So might be extra walking is what caused it considering you do have issues with fibro.0

Just in case anyone is interested, I did see my wonderful doctor today and he is really pleased at my progress. He thinks the swelling in my legs is a side effect of one of my medications. He is doing some other tests to make sure that this is what it is and we are taking some short term measures to deal with it until all the test results come back then a decision will be made if I need to change medications, lower the dosage, or what.
Thanks for everyone's comments. I felt better asking about the slight swelling because of your comments.
