Since I can't post on my facebook since I have many southern Christian family members. I think what Phil said is wrong and he has no right to judge someone's beliefs.

What did he say that was judgmental? I may have missed it, I don't watch much tv. The clip I saw he stated his sexual preference0

Here is an article that has his quotes.

Which quote specifically?0 -
Just so I'm clear, you're judging someone because it is your belief that people who state an opinion of their beliefs is judgmental? So, correct me if I'm wrong, you have no tolerance for people who are intolerant.0

is this the part of the interview you had a problem with?
"However, I would never treat anyone with disrespect just because they are different from me. We are all created by the Almighty and like Him, I love all of humanity. We would all be better off if we loved God and loved each other.”0 -
So is this group for only outlaws who cling to their guns and religion?0

I mostly have the problem with the reactions to him getting removed temporarily. A & E isn't the government it is a company he works for. People get fired for saying racist or anit-gay things. So everyone overreacting to this makes it seem more of an issue of gay vs straight rather than freedom of speech.0

How is this comment even remotely close to what you were saying in the OP?0 -

OK So we are on a new point
No obviously it's not a violation of the 1st amendment and not ILLEGAL
But it does fly in the face of the idea of the 1st (Both freedom of speech and freedom of religion)
I just re skimmed the article and I saw nothing worth suspending someone over, especially when they make your company so much money. I believe if he was a gay man saying he thought fucking a vagina was gross he'd be okay.
I think its that hypocrisy that people are upset about
EDIT: 1st not 2nd, got guns on the brain0 -
I see what you are saying. So what is worse this case or what happened to Paula Dean?0

Actually, I think we all have a right to judge everyone else's beliefs.
We don't necessarily have a right to impose our beliefs on others, but sometimes we do.
I judge that people who have sex with children are wrong.
I judge people who genitally mutilate young women in the name of religion are wrong.
Is it wrong of me to judge them?
No, I'm not comparing homosexuality to either of those things above, I'm just making the point that it is perfectly natural and even very necessary, that we judge. How else do we establish who we are?0 -

Add to that, the fact that A&E knew his and the entire family's stand on their religious and personal views from day one. From what I've read, during the family’s initial negotiations about the show with A&E, "Jase told me, 'the three no-compromises were faith, betrayal of family members, and duck season.'”
Considering who they are, where they come from, their belief system, his comments are far from a shock. I don't even watch the show, and I've only seen what I was forced to watch at someone else's house and what I've heard other say, and I knew where they would stand on this topic.0 -

I don't like when anyone is forced off the air for saying something that people don't like. Even if its something I don't agree with. I especially want the people I don't agree with to voice their opinions loud and clear.0 -

I have no doubts they knew exactly what they were doing0 -

Both cases are stupid and trivial. They're just people, nothing more, nothing less. Their perceived status is exactly what people give them.
ETA: In what way did Phil or Paula personally, financially, or physically affect or attack you as a person? The comments weren't directed at anyone specific, they were personal opinions, and not one person was directly harmed.0 -

Agreed
It's "Reality TV", which means it's about as real as starvation mode on MFP. The entire show is scripted, the interactions are scripted, and this interview was most likely scripted. I honestly want to be wrong about this, but I'm probably not.
Phil is most likely on a vacation, the ratings will probably soar, like the profits Chik-fil-a saw when people were offended by what the founder said about the same topic. People were going to boycott and prove their point, and instead of a profit loss, Chik-fil-a patrons rallied up and you couldn't even drive through the parking lot.
Its all about ratings and drama.0 -

And to be honest with ya, I don't know why more shows don't sell out on a show to a right wing/Christian audience on a mainstream network. IMO there's a lot of money left on the table not pandering to the people that would line up to support such a show. Duck Dynasty proves even a slapped together show can work in that niche.0
