I consider myself a Christian and when people drag that holier-than-thou, you're-a-disgrace-because-you-sin-differently-than-I-do crap in, I am ashamed of the title. Not of what I think it represents - kindness, humility, charity, and love - but of what the public figures who call themselves Christians make it into.
He is, however, entitled to his opinion - and probably two-thirds of my friends and family do not approve of homosexuality - but the manner in which he chose to express that opinion was ignorant and wrong. You can disagree with things and not say "that's unnatural and they are going to hell the same as if they fvcked a baby goat.

What bothers me more than that, though, is that his commentary insinuating that civil rights were unnecessary and that no African American was ever mistreated has gotten almost no attention and that is far more inflammatory in my mind.
Plus, his freedom of speech wasn't violated - in fact, his words are being spread ALLLLLLL over the news and internet. He just doesn't get to say those things on a network that supports LGTB causes.0 -

It is not breaking news that this guy is a backwoods redneck or that Paula Dean makes racist comments. I am not sure why everyone is so shocked by that. It is simply not in the best interest of A & E to endorse these views, so he had to go. I am sure that they will both be just fine financially.0

The funny thing to me is that most Duck Dynasty viewers are going to be more outraged if he ends up outrighted shitcanned that they are offended by what he actually said (which in entirety is not as bad as the single snippet sounds, still very shortsighted IMO though).0 -
The only thing I find even slightly offensive about the whole situation is that people are talking about it. Why the fuc[/i]k is this even news, and why is everyone making such a big deal about this? Is there not more pressing news of interest that actually affects our lives and impacts us in some way other than whether or not someone is on a stupid reality show or not?
Why are people spending so much itme discussing what some rich *kitten* backwoods redneck thinks about anything, when there is movement in budget discussions that affects our military, veteran's benefits, government operations. There is still uinrest in the rest of the world where people are being killed, abducted, sold into slavery, etc. The NSA's ability to legally butt into our lives more than ever is being debated... I could go on with a hundred stories that are getting little to no attention that are of import, adn Americans are spending all of their time and energy talking about what one fu[/i]cking nobody holds for personal beliefs.0 -

The media seems to ignore this part of the interview. He's entitled to his opinion, whether it differs from yours or mine is irrelevant.

True. Lol my BFF is a gay dude, and we are talking about how although this is offensive, we are not shocked in the least. It's just more of the usual annoying, typical bs. However, we grew up in a Georgia. So our exposure to this type of behavior probably has something to do with it.0 -

I think we all have the right to judge each other's beliefs. Just like you did JUST NOW with Phil Robertson. You have to judge beliefs for yourself to determine whether you agree or not. What's not ok is forcing your beliefs on others. He didn't do that. He just stated what he believes. We all agree or disagree, but he didn't force it on anyone.
