where did you go?

I just finished reading an excellent blog post about why people drop off the MFP radar. It's usually because they start getting complacent and drop off their weight loss program.

Ideal Protein people may have a different reason. Some cant hack the strict protocol, but many of us go on to "win" by meeting our goal weight very quickly!! And then go into maintenance, and sometimes we stop participating in group discussions.

I don't blog...I've met a lot of nice people in this group. I'm opinionated...I'm truthful...but I'm not mean, cruel, or judgemental. Why do I feel sometimes like my discussion comments become a "kiss of death" on the thread posting.

I'm now in Phase 4 - and i'm struggling some days. 0 tolerence on carbs was easier than low-carb. I miss seeing new posts in this group. i want to be there for people starting out, and i need people who have found ways to fight the same temptations i have.

    Hey Cindi,

I've definitely pulled back my interaction in general the last couple of months. Just a lot going on between work and the holidays. I plan to ramp back up come 1/2, and I have made a conscientious decision in the meantime to put away the scale and enjoy whatever holiday goodies I want. I'm still logging and exercising, but not goal oriented in any other way.

So, I'm not fighting any temptations! :) I'm guessing that won't be too helpful to anybody here on IP. And this particular group always seemed low traffic to me in general. I wouldn't take it personally if your message is the last on a thread.

    Best,
    Sharon

I am doing Atkins/nutritional ketosis. Finding it much easier to stick to and the weight loss is the same. Just couldn't handle the packeged foods and low fat anymore.

*waves* I'm here! I was on a "break" for the holidays! Just getting back on track now... I wi on Thursday.
  • Hi there!

I am fairly new to the IP Group having been on the diet for about five weeks. In four weeks I have lost 21.4 pounds and will weigh in again on Thursday, January 9th. While I picked a difficult time of year to begin such a restrictive diet, it is precisely that restriction that I needed to navigate the temptations of the holidays. If I hadn't started before Thanksgiving like I did, I fear I would have fallen even farther off the wagon.

I am ready to learn new recipes as I am tiring of the pile of veggies and protein I eat for dinner every night though I do vary those often. Last night I had cauliflower "rice" for the first time and that has opened a whole new world of possibility to me. I would appreciate interaction from the group and any advice &/or success stories anyone wants to share. I will reciprocate as I progress through the program and have more to offer.

I am just over 1/5 of the way to my ultimate weight loss goal.

    Cheers!
    Kelly

Ugghhhh! The sugar keeps creeping in! I have stayed away from carbs for months now - no problem, but the sugar - it's everywhere and I want it!

I work in a place where people are constantly bringing food! There are always donuts, bagels, brownies, and my favorite ice cream cake! Oh and the lunch meetings are offering up left over sandwiches, pizza, wings. Yikes. The smell of some foods makes me crazy hungry. I haven't cheated but it is hard. I just drink my herbal tea and hang on until my meal time.
