Question...
How many warm up sets/reps of each excercise do I need to do before I do my 5x5 for the day?
I don't want to burn myself out on the warm ups.

you won't burn out. it's actually quite helpful for form practice and injury prevention
2x5 empty bar (45lbs)
1x3 increase 50lbs until you reach your work weight.

I do 2 x 5 empty
and 1 x 5 with a comfortable weight
Then go!
Definitely a good idea to get a couple in before you go heavy.0 -

It depends on the lift for me. Bench/press I start with the empty bar and do 25 reps on bench and 12 on press just to get loose. For bench then I do 95x8 135x6 185x5 then my work sets. Press, I add 20lbs and do sets of 5 til I hit my work weight.
Squats and deads, I start with 135x5 for 2 sets, 185x5, 225x3 then my work sets.
Do whatever you need to get loose. I like higher reps of light weight to get loose and then gradually increase the weight to get used to the feel. Been doing it this way for years.0 -

I am a big fan of the Starting Strength Warmup App. I use it on my iPod touch.
