Finished my fast finally this evening... Plan on running tomorrow sometime hopefully getting back into running at least this week. Still going to rest my shoulder for another week or so.

I'm taking an unplanned rest day from the gym. Woke up this morning not feeling very well. Really fatigued, bit of a sore throat, bit of an earache - not sick yet, but threatening. I've got a really busy week ahead & I'm going out of town next weekend, so I'm opting to take it easy today & hopefully avoid actually getting sick. It's a good day to get some things done around the house. It's cold, but the sun is shining so as long as I don't actually go outside I can pretend that it's a beautiful day.

Hope you get better Laura, good you listen to your body, my fav masseuse in the city I use to go to before we retired use to tell me he would listen to his body and it told him when to rest, I have tried to do that since and for many years until this bad one I hardly ever got sick or wouldn't last long.

Tim, you made it! Good for you, I always felt better after a fast.

I had a scary thing happen last night and this morning, I was jittery, acting uptight without being able to control it, and this morning worse, I realized my blood sugar was low so had some orange juice and toast and after a few hours and another small meal feel better.

I notice over the years if I start eating too much carbs and sugar then get better on diet this always happens, this time I made sure to eat heathy and even allowed myself small piece of chocolate a day thinking I could keep from it but I think it was too low of cal for me as I wasn't eating off exercise calories.

    Congratulations Tim!

Laura, wise choice. I hope your body responds well.

Marla, I used to have blood sugar issues and it can be scary (shaky, tunnel vision, passing out). Definitely motivation for keeping the diet on an even keel. But when you do overdo sugars, maybe add some cinnamon to your diet, it's good for regulating blood sugar.

Well, I have nothing to report today. I'm just desperately desperately trying to get healthy again, and am feeling better tonight than yesterday morning (but that's not saying much because I felt like death-warmed-over yesterday morning lol).

2014 is well under way and (despite this stupid illness) I look forward to all that it brings! I wish you all increased energy and strength, joy and success.

I look forward to seeing the new topic every day - can't wait to see the ones you did, Tim! And I had already forgotten what I had used for this week so it's been a surprise each day.

Went to an odor recognition test today for k9 nosework. Both my dogs passed. It was at a by scout camp and involved a lot of walking in the woods and up and down a hill to get to and from everything. I was there only about 3 hours, but I never sat down during any part of that three hours and was briskly walking for a bunch of it, so I decided to enter 45 minutes of brisk walking to my fitness pal. So with that and the 15 minutes of strength training and 15 minute yoga routine I did tonight, I have decided that I got my "at least 60 minutes" of exercise in today.

Donna you do so much where you're randomly walking around that you should look into getting a Fitbit. I bet you're walking even more than you think you are! Congrats to the pups!

    Thanks Laura!

I do try to be conservative with estimating the walking.
