I realized I posted some of this in the wrong area in the message boards so if anyone had read this before, sorry.

Hey everyone, I'm new to this group but not MFP. I started getting serious to drop the extra weight back in March 2013. In 6 months I dropped 54lbs, I took a week break in between each 3 months. After every two months in, I was getting very tired and didn't do much besides the workout for the day. After that my energy was zapped (probably because I was in the 200's and was eating 1200-1400 calories & doing p90x) Months 7-9 I didn't stick with much of a plan and a lot of life's issues happened so I wasn't focused. I ate mostly what I wanted and gained 6 of those pounds back. I consider these past few months as my bodies way to tell me to eat more. I recently started a program again and ready to get back into gear but I want to do that wisely and not deplete my intake so much where my energy is gone. I do have a blog post of my progress if you'd like to check it out.

Tonight I took my first steps into the right direction, I figured my BMR1678, TDEE 2601 and cut 2080 (going to try at 20% to start). I hope it is right. I have hypothyroidism (on levothyroxine) and know that can play a factor with all of this. The past few months I have reset my metabolism without really knowing I was doing it. I just listened to my body wanting more fuel. I know it will be a bit slower then before but it's the smart way. Thanks

Yay! Congrats on making that decision to listen to your body and give it the fuel it needs! Great job figuring out your numbers, but one thing to remember is that EM2WL generally recommends a 15% cut. If you have a lot to lose, you could go to that 20%, but personally, I would try the 15% cut first then re-adjust as necessary. Remember, the idea is to eat as much as possible, while still losing weight. If you start with too steep of a cut, then you have nowhere to go if your weight loss slows down (except into the VLCDing area). Try that 15% cut and see what happens --- why eat less if you don't have to? (remember, you are not wanting the weight to come off fast, you are wanting it to come off slowly while eating as much as you can and keeping your metabolism chugging along at a high rate while doing so...)

Thank you  I was wanting to try the 15% cut but after reading up a bit about BMR and hypothyroidism I'm kind of nervous I'll give it a try :frown: (fingers crossed)

Not bad for my first day eating more. My intake was 2277 calories, 587 burned from exercise (using a HRM), net 1690. I had to have a late sandwich to hit my BMR. Wow this is a lot of food. I did have a bunch of energy today also. My macros came out to be P/C/F 39/35/26 My goal is 40/30/30. On the down side, I'm already feeling bloated. I know it's a temporary thing.

Thanks and hello, I have completed a round of P90 & a round of P90x. I'm currently doing TurboFire and lifting a few times a week.
