    Welcome Melij.

Leslie's made so many different levels of workouts that there's plenty for beginner, intermediate and advanced walkers to choose from. I get most of my workouts from College Video dot com. But you can find them at Walmart and Target too. I like Collage best because they sell almost all of her workouts and you get to preview the dvd's before buying them. But Walmart and Target are cheaper.

I'm old school and recommend her older workouts like The 4 Mile Super Challenge. It's old, made in 2001 I think. It's still her best in my opinion. And you can't go wrong with the 5 Day Slim Down. I still enjoy the Walk at Home 3 Mile Weight Loss Walk too. But since I've been doing them for many years and can quote dialog from them, I'm broke out of my rut a few days ago and ordered The Belly Blasting workout.

I also recommend other instructors like Debbie Rocker, Madeleine Lewis and Jessica Smith for good walking workouts.

Forgot to say you could also see if your local library has some of Leslies workouts and check them out too. Oops, almost forgot to say you can also check out youtube and see if the workouts are right for you.

    Hope this helps,

    Ann

Welcome to the monthly challenge Melij!
My first LS DVD was the Walk Away the Pounds Ultimate Collection DVD. It has 4 complete walks: 1 mile Get Up & Get Started, 2 mile Brisk Walk, 3 mile Advanced Walk, and 4 mile Super Challenge. It still remains one of my favorites especially the Super Challenge walk.

LOL, I just read your reply Ann, so I deleted most of my post b/c you already wrote everything I had written. Great minds think alike  . No need to repeat it all.

LOL Mary. Glad you agree with me on Walk Away the Pounds/Super Challenge. They really are the bomb.

And we're almost neck and neck with our monthly miles today too.

I think we might be twins, separated at birth. What do you think?

    Monday check in.

First day back to work. Not feeling 100%.

The walk from the parking lot to work is a long one. No additional exercise today, got in 5500 steps total.

Feeling much better today, but not yet back to 100%.
Got in 6000 steps per the Fitbit, my goal is 8000.
    Happy Friday!

Glad ur feeling better:)). I have a fitbit, let me know if u want to connect :). Happy Saturday

I just got a fit bit and have done one Leslie 2 mile walk since. But the fitbit only logged 1 mile. Are my steps just too small or is this common?

It's common :(. Same thing for me.

    Melij,

Welcome to LS Walk At Home; this is a totally awesome group that is truly supportive!!! I would second Ann and Mary about
the Ultimate Collection- it has the 4 Mile Super Challenge which is absolutely one of my favorites. It also has the original WATP
DVD and the 2 and 3 mile Express DVDs on it. Please start there until you get used to LS's program. I think you'll have
fun...let me know if I can help.

Leslie Sansone steps will be different I think to ordinary walking. To get steps accurate you need to measure your stride, which is no good for LS DVD's because you are doing steps to a beat. If you don't take a step on the beat it wont count. When you are doing kicks or knee raises there are steps missing so not counted. Miles should be more or less accurate when walking normally if your stride is right.

I measured my stride on a football pitch. I found out the length of the football pitch and paced it several times then divided it into the length of the pitch to get my stride. It still will not work with Leslie.

I just found this group- I have been doing Leslie Sansone Walk Away the Pounds Ultimate Collection since 1/1/2014! I have done her 2 mile walk mostly, and 1 mile walk once, and one rest day. Total Miles so far: 13 miles
    January Goal: 50 miles

Miles left to Goal! 37 miles!

    Hi everyone,

I managed to catch the virus going around the family, so I did nothing yesterday. I did a two mile walk tonight and it has left me pretty tired, but not exausted (improvement from earlier this week). I am hoping that by the end of the week I will be back on my game.
