I don't think there's a significant weight loss from running. It tones your body well and you'll get rid of the "jiggley" parts but the weight loss comes from calorie counting.0

You will definitely burn calories from running, but ultimately it comes down to how much you're eating. I know a woman who gained a noticeable amount of weight while training for a half marathon because she ate more during training. Having said that, running 3 times a week has been great for my weight loss, but I'm pretty consistent on sticking within my calories.0

I have lost and gained. When I have done a considerable amount of training for a race I tend to gain. I don't know why that is. But with normal training I can lose.
It really does matter what you eat and how much you eat though. Keep to the plan, make sure you have your settings correct on MFP as well.0 -

Pretty much this. I think when people begin a vigorous running schedule (i.e. marathon training), a voracious appetite is a side effect, and people tend to eat more than they burn. Then you hear people say "OMG, I started running and gained weight" Well, you gained cause you were eating more than your TDEE.0 -
You will first notice your thighs getting more solid and then muscles in your calves.
Where you once got exhausted walking around the the mall, you find that you are still raring to go after a full day of theme parks.
Then your butt and obliques will start pulling themselves back to where they should be.
You'll start finding little places to run: up the stairs, out to your car in the parking lot, you'll jog back to the house when you put your trash bins on the curb.
But weight loss is calories in < calories out.0 -
I started my C25k program in early November. I'm only on week 6 day 3 due to personal reasons, and I haven't lost any weight. I also hadn't changed my eating habits, until today that is. My legs are looking slimmer and more firm which my hubby noticed. And as a PP mentioned, my stamina is greatly improved. I can walk up 2 flights of stairs with no problem. Before I was huffing and puffing up the first flight!0
