@ Sherry - This is my final quote of the day just FYI ....

Day Two of Strong Lifts 5x5 Program did Workout B this morning...Broke it up this morning the workout only took 45mins so I got on the elliptical for 15 mins to get my hour in. Then after that I ran my normal 5k route. Boy I am sore from Mondays workout the squats were challenging this morning to say the least I broke 90 degrees but that's about it lol no deep squats today. The run was slower as well due to my legs being sore but I made it the whole way again so no complaints there. In 90mins I burned 954 calories so over all a very good workout. :glasses:

Tim, got it, thanks again for the help! Way to go with Stronglifts! I hope you aren't starting heavier than the bar though. That's a big no-no. It seems counterintuitive, but you get greater gains by starting empty and progressing fast. Anyway, well done!

Jen, read you've been sick still. Hope you get over it soon.

13strong, way to get it done!

Today I had an appt that i totally forgot about until my cell phone reminded me. Ooops! Guess I made the appt BEFORE getting my new calendar. Anyway, managed to get it taken care of with little girl (so walking & tot-carrying there) in time to pick up my son from school and hand over lil girl to DH. Dropped son off at tutor and ran to the gym. Was going to do back and shoulders but I'm having serious problems with my left shoulder (grrrrr. might have to go post in the forums about it). Anyway, so I did back and did all of the arms and chest workout that I had slated for tomorrow. So I'm actually AHEAD this week!!! Can you believe that?!?! Did not approach the OlyBar today. The weight section was even fuller than Monday. Gonna start making mental notes about days of weeks so I can figure out which days are less crowded. Anyway, then ran back. Total running was only 25minutes. Feeling sore pretty much all over.

threadstarters for the next week and a half are up & i'm feeling inspired. Ready'all later.

    Oh yeah, happy hump day!

@Sherry - Ha ha well I guess I'm in the wrong according to the program...I did start heavier than the basic bar (40lb) weights. I am no rookie in the gym just this program so I know I am capable of doing much more actually surprised myself this week so far stronger than I thought.

For the squats my 5 Rep Max end weight is 140lbs the Deadlifts are the same. For overhead press my max is 120lbs I tried 130lbs but failed could not get it up to go over my head lol. The Bench Press max weight is at 165lbs for now I think I will up the weight on Friday Morning. Finally the bent over bar bell rows max weight is also at 140lbs. I get your point though thanks for the heads up about the SL 5x5 always open to new tips!

Just FYI for everyone I will be leaving this group upon me leaving from my deployment location here in a few weeks. Thanks so much for letting me help and the continual motivation!

Tim you won't be able to stay in touch at your new deployment? Will miss seeing your updates.

Great job getting into your routine Sherry! I kind of love that sore-all-over feeling.

I'm still fighting my cold, although it seems to be winning. Trainer workout tonight & have a 3 mile run planned, but will see how I feel. I can put the run off until tomorrow.

Tim, those are some great numbers. Hope they keep going up. :) We'll miss you around here and I hope your next move/deployment is a good one. Any word when that will be? (Hope you get a trip home too!)

Laura, sorry to hear you're fighting a cold. Hope it passes quickly. Well done, keeping your trainer appts through it.

Marla, good for you working on some home projects. My home really needs some TLC, but it keeps falling to the bottom of the list.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention something! Yesterday I went to son's school a little early because he has p.e. outside on Tuesdays and I get to see him. The teacher sent him over to tell me something. Apparently, every year they test the kids for running a certain distance (I have no idea what it is, but they run back & forth a measured portion of the play yard--I could see the girls doing it when I got there). They have to complete this distance at some point while at that school, I guess. Apparently my son finished it. He was only the 3rd kid to finish it in his class (and the other two are the top athletes who are really tops in soccer, basket, etc, etc pretty much everything). After yesterday, he can still do the run next times, but it doesn't matter, because he completed that part of the fitness test now. He was so proud. My son is very tall and thin and not particularly athletic and doesn't run fast at all, but apparently he's got endurance on his side. I guess the p.e. teacher (who is a runner) has noticed me always showing up to school in my running clothes and thought I'd like to know. Awww, my little distance runner. The point is that I'm just so glad that I'm THIS kind of influence on my kids instead of the kind of influence I once was (basically sitting around and never doing anything physical beyond walking).
