So, I started the C25K program yesterday. Today, I went to the gym with the intention of doing a quick cardio warm-up to be followed by total body strength training.
The ellipticals were all in use, so I hopped on a treadmill and got the bright idea to see how long I could maintain a jogging pace. I have done walk/jog routines on my own for the past few years and even managed to run a mile without stopping a year ago. Then, I got really sick and was put out of commission for several months.
I got to 7 minutes and my feet were burning, but I pushed to 10 minutes. By that time, I was in a groove and could have continued for longer, but I didn't want to wear myself out before getting to the weights.
I'm going to take tomorrow off for sure, but should I continue with W1D2 the next day or just run and add 30 seconds - 1 minute with each session? I really want to run a race come spring, so I don't want to mess up my progress or hurt myself by pushing too far.
Thanks!

I'd say stick with the program. You'll be back up to 7 minutes in about 3 weeks...without your feet burning...and it will give you a chance to improve your speed at the same time.0

I’m going to stick with the program as it’s designed. I have Lupus and some gastrointestinal issues and while it’s under good control now, I’m still not in remission. I’ve just started running and using weights again after being sick and mostly inactive for a long time. My “plan” was 1 day treadmill, 1 day weights, 1 day off, repeat. I think that may even be too much, too soon. The DOMS isn’t too bad from the weights but I’m exhausted!0
