so i love lifting, and want to be better about incorporating it into my schedule.
i'm an early morning work out kind of person, but have no problem doing two-a-days and going again in the afternoon.
my question is, do those of you that lift, lift in the morning, or in the afternoon?

I do strength in the morning and cardio in the afternoon. My cardio is just to burn fat. If I were training for a triathlon, I might do it differently. When I swam competitively, (when dinosaurs roamed the earth), on lifting days I swam in the morning and lifted in the afternoon.0

The traditional answer is to do cardio in the morning and lift in the afternoon. The theory is that you're system is more full of nutrients and ready to deal with the larger trauma caused by lifting. That said we're triathletes and not normal. I say s/b/r when you feel the freshest to get the most out of your sessions.0

I prefer lifting in the morning and cardio in the afternoon. I notice that my running is easier in the afternoons since I've been up all day moving vs rolling out of bed and running. Some people can do that, and I have too, but the runs just feel more difficult and tend to be at a slower pace in the a.m.0

Mornings. Just like cardio workouts, if it doesn't get done early, life tends to get in the way and it won't get done at all.0

I do cardio early, only because i hit the gym before work and have time for a shower. I then lift at lunch, in uniform, no time to change/ shower.0

I'm traditional. I usually do my cardio in the morning and my strength in the afternoon. Or I do both in the afternoon. When I lift in the morning, I never feel as strong as I do later in the day.0
