Hello Everyone!!! How was your week?? From several of your posts, I see that you have been working out, eating well, and staying within your calorie range. Well, the weekend is here, and this is a time that we can often over do it. I have a great discussion planned for Eating Well Wednesday, that focuses on ways to avoid weekend binges. For now, here are 10 Tips for Avoiding Weekend Weight Gain:

"Studies show that successful losers that keep the weight off long term are consistent every day in their lifestyles, so eating healthy and exercising is their routine regardless of day of the week," says Hill. "When weekends are a time out, those extra calories and time off of exercise add up, and undermine weight loss efforts."

1. Remember your weigh-in is Monday morning:love:
2. Focus on healthy eating and moderation:flowerforyou: Continue to throw in a fruit or veggie with each meal!
3. Plan ahead. If you're headed for a party or out to dinner, eat less early and power up your physical activity. But, don't go hungry to "save" calories for later! That could backfire! TRUST ME!!!! LOL
4. Watch portion sizes:noway:
5. Get physical. Take a brief walk if you are not going to the gym or hitting play on the DVD player.
6. Eat out sensibly. Restaurant portions are ALWAYS too much! Try dividing it in half as soon as it hits the table and ask for a take out box. This can be consumed for your next meal.:drinker:
7. Eat a healthy breakfast. If you've got time, enjoy! Just don't have the country style breakfast full of fat, carbs, and sodium!
8. Think Lean! (I modified this one from think thin:grumble: ) Keep our weight loss goals in mind to ensure that our hard work during the week is not wasted  It's fine to have an occasional treat, but don't make it a regular thing. Cheat meal instead of cheat day!:glasses:
9. Beware of beverage calories. :drinker: Enjoy one glass of wine instead of two, order light beer instead of regular, or have your cocktail with club soda or diet soda to help keep calories under control:drinker:
10. Pack healthy snacks or lunches if you're going to be out of the house all day.

I'm going to work on the weigh-in for Monday. I MAY be a day or two late cause my scale broke and is inaccurate right now. I tested with my youngest to be sure and it is off. I cnt even find a coorelation in amount off to add/subtract the difference. Hubs said we will get a new one, but it has to wait til his payday.
Best I can do for Monday is TRY to sneak at a store early (before work) and step on one there *8pretending to buy**. LOL We'll see if that happens..
I LOVE your advice though! Weekends always tend to be hard for us all and these simple steps can help from regaining everything we lost. :-)

The eating out on Sunday is difficult, not only because of the calories but the sodium as well. I try not to eat out. But I will pack a Luna Bar to tide me over until I get dinner cooked at home. And it does help to know that weigh is the next day.
