Put me on the injured list

Don't know what I did. Bumped up speeds 0.2 and was feeling pretty good until about the 15 mark, went to take a forward stride and SNAP when the knee. Yes, my bad one. I caught the side-rails so it wasn't one of those epic looking treadmill fails. Thank god because it would have been BAD.... I was near machines/freeweights and that area had some traffic. Stretched it out and rather then get off the treadmill hot I dropped it to my walk speed, lowered it a little and tried to walk it off. After a few I knew I was pretty much done, so I quit out at 100 cals burned and packed it in for the day.

Not sure what did it. Either the longer runs on wk2 or the speed increase however small it was... or both. Or it's just a fluke, Or I should have stayed at week 1 longer... I don't know. My 3 runs last week were great.

And now I don't know what to do. Right now 4ish hours later I'm pretty sore and stiff but not much swelling. It was instantly on ice and elevated so that probably helped. I know running weds is out. Even if it feels good I KNOW I need to rest it. I think I should probably just suspend running until I finish my 12wk program and then restart c25k. Much as it kills me. But I figured I would check in with everyone here and see their thoughts

Really, the only thing that I can suggest is to see a doctor. This sounds like the type of underlying injury that could cause recurring issues through your running life.

When you restart C25k, just focus on getting through the program as slowly as possible and learn as much as you can about running form. It sounds like you might be overstriding (which puts pressure on the knee) and the higher speeds are just too much. If you have knee issues, you need to be absolutely sure that you are running as efficiently as possible.
