Unbearably sore legs

I need either stretching tips, or some kind of advice. I tried to start W2D1 of C25k today. Day one last week was fine. I felt energetic, and excited to start. But the second two days of week one were horrible! Same with today! I don't understand what's wrong. I do think my weight might have to do with it, but still. Does anyone have any newbie advice?

Maybe it's your shoes? Did you get fitted at a real running store by any chance? If not, you should check them out; better shoes can be spendy, BUT it will be worth it in the long run (pun intended!) to have shoes that fit you properly (or you may need special insoles- I needed both, so I can relate).

Are you running outside or on a treadmill? Maybe you're really sore from hills/slopes?

Are you pushing yourself too hard?? Try not too, even f you find the first week or two easy... you can't go too slow with C25K!

Oh, I'm sure my shoes are a big part of it. I'm saving for good shoes, but money isn't in the cards. I am running on a treadmill, and I was going at about 4.5 mph, or 4 mph. Maybe I should try it slower, but I feel like any slower, I won't be running, jogging, or even walking.

Everyone is different so you have to find the pace that's right for you.
Your pace seems quick for me. When I started the program, I ran at about 3.75 mph and when my breathing got difficult I slowed down to about 3.5 mph.
It does seem awfully slow when you're running that speed but it'll get you through the program without injuries. Find what works for you and take it slow. You'll speed up on your own as you get stronger.

And shoes. They are important but if you're on the treadmill, you can get away with less than perfect shoes. When you move to the outdoors, though, try to get yourself fitted with good shoes.

Slow down. My walk is probably faster than my run - work on speed later.
When you can afford it get better shoes.
Bengay Cold Therapy is awesome for sore muscles. I couldn't live without it.

    Delayed onset muscle soreness??
Water, water, water. Aspirin or paracetamol, massage, and RICE. The usual.
Oh and what others have said about running shoes.

    Where are your legs sore?

Calf is probably muscle building, but it's a little unusual in a new runner
Shin or knees indicate a problem,
Quads - I'd question your form: are you pulled up through the torso? Are you overstriking?

Is it soreness, cramping, a sharp twinge?
