Hi! My name is Sharon and I just turned 50 last November and embraced it fully. I have come back to MFP to stick to my goals of leading a healthier lifestyle so that I can live to see grandchildren someday and enjoy them. I had 150 pounds to lose when I started back on Jan 02, 2014 and have lost now 14 pounds. I am diabetic with hypertension and was in the hospital for high blood sugar levels so I really need to stick with this. I am more determined now to lose the weight and eat right than when I quit smoking 3 years ago (I never went back to smoking but I put on 50 pounds from the food tasting so good). I work full time and am building up tolerance on my stationary bike. I started in November only being able to do 2 minutes at a time before getting wore out. I'm up to 13 minutes as of yesterday! Ok so now you know my story for the most part. I look forward to helping support and being supported here.

Thank you, and last night I got my biking up to 15 minutes! I was and still am so excited about getting up to the 15 minute mark, now maybe I can add to that in the morning maybe start off at 5 minutes before jumping in the shower.

Hello Sharon. I have a lot in common with you. Same weight to lose and same health issues and just getting started with exercise as well. Would love to have any of you ladies as friends.0

Hi Sharon! Great job on doing 15 minutes and also on your 14 lb loss!! It makes you feel so good to do something you didn't think you could do that it just snowballs and you can do more and more. I walked 2 miles last night for the first time in years and was just amazed that I could do that! Sure does motivate you to stay with it! Good luck! Connie0
