So I signed up for the Runkeeper sub 2:30 plan - I am about four weeks late as its a 16 week plan and the half I want to do is in 12 weeks but will just modify the long runs until I am up to the distance.

Did 6.5km on the treadmill today (I know road running is harder but want to ease into the longer runs) in 40 minutes and found it surprisingly easy. Have a history of niggly pains so came home and iced feet and knees just in case lol. Have recently bought running shoes more suited to my running style (was assessed by running store) got New Balance 790 v3) and want to save up for the Kinvara 4.

Here's hoping I can achieve my goal!!

Congrats!!! Good plan to modify the long ones. Increasing mikes too fast can lead to injury. Treadmills are not necessarily easier. Put it on a 1% grade to better simulate outside. The greater "risk" on the mill is thst in real life your pace will vary ever so slightly. Not the case with the mill which means you have to adjust your gait and that's not always good. But a tmill bests no miles :)
