February Fitness Challenge
Here’s the challenge:
10,000 Steps A Day
We can do it!
The average person's stride length is approximately 2.5 feet long. That means it takes just over 2,000 steps to walk one mile. 10,000 steps would be close to 5 miles.
You can use a pedometer, Fitbit, Body Media, or any device or apps to track your steps.
If the goal is a too challenging or not challenging enough, set your own personal goal. The idea is to increase your steps!
To increase your steps try:
~ Using the stairs instead of the elevator
~ Returning the shopping cart to the store instead of the lot
~ Walking the dog
~ Parking farther away from your destination
~ Planning a walking meeting
~ Taking a walk in your neighborhood
~ Using the copier or restroom farthest away from your desk
~ Going to the mall and window shopping
~ Abandoning the remote, get up to change the channel
~ Walking to nearby shops instead of driving
~ Dancing

Today has not been a typical day. 10,000 is not to much of a problem, most times.I even hit 15,000 on occasions. But today doing snow removal and them mall walking i put in 22,141 steps, 8.83 miles.0

Oh my goodness; I'm a stepping failure! I got out of the habit of wearing my pedometer everywhere I go. I now use Runkeeper for my runs. I walked 4141 steps yesterday and have so far gone 8089 steps today, so there's still hope. :sad:0
