New Here! Day 15

Hi! I'm Andrea. Completely new here. I am all screwed up in all kind of ways (I like to consider myself to be beautifully broken) and ready to take control of me. I am a codependant, overeating, parent of four, mother of 5 with an alcoholic spouse (and ex-spouse) and I'm only 25. I am just starting a 12-step Al Anon program (Which I'm excited about, and I just found out you can work the steps for overeating as well! Thank you OA)

Granted, I'm not completely screwed. Through all of my downfalls I have a wonderful career and loving children. I am ready to start appreciating all that is good instead of dwelling on all that is bad. I was trying to find the right place to make my confession. Most people in my life do not know how bad things can get, or all of the emotional binging and overeating. Like I said before, I am ready. Ready to take control of my life, flaws and all... one day at a time.

Feel free to add me. My food diary is private, eventually I will be ready to make it public. Today is not that day, but overall I'm a pretty friendly person, and definitely motivated. Excited to find a place where I can share my journey, pitfalls and success.

LUV'N THE TERM "BEAUTIFULLY BROKEN". IT FRAMES OUR ISSUES IN A POSITIVE AND MOST OF ALL FIXABLE LIGHT.

I'M NOT YELLING AT YOU I'M SIMPLY HARD OF SEEING. ;-)

    Hi Andrea,
Welcome to the group. This group isn't as active as it used to be, but I will make it a point to show up everyday and offer support. Yes, one day at a time I turn my disorder over to a source that can handle it better than I, which I take comfort in. In OA we also read the Big Book of Alcoholics anonymous, as most all recovery programs. The steps have saved my sanity many times, as well as my sponsor, and fellow OAers!
