Hyperthyroid and gaining weight!

I became hyperthyroid and I gained back a bunch of weight. Gained weight when hyperthyroid; not fair. I have been irritable and anxious and so eating, eating and can't stop. Dose lowered for synthroid and feeling better, but still trying not to eat all of the time. Anyone else gain weight when hyperthyroid?

    Ss to hear that :( keep going cause its gotta get better. I had put on 30 lbs before being diagnosed 9 months ago, but have started to lose by doing a 9 day cleanse and then the Flat Belly Diet - down 8 lbs in 3 weeks

    I believe that hyperthyroid when on synthroid can cause weight gain. It isn't a natural hyperthyroid. Some people do gain weight when hyper though. That stinks. Keep rockin and don't give up.

    I put on nearly 2 stone, I was so hungry all the time and depressed so just ate, but as soon as I started the medication I could think straight, started easting healthier food and lost my ravenous appetitie.

    I always gain weight when I am Hyper or Hypo. Still trying to find the magic "balance" ....I don't have a thyroid gland at all though. (surgery)
