I know this is silly...

I built up to running about 11-12 miles without stopping before I had surgery in December and had to take 6 week break from running. I've been running consistently for the past 3 weeks or so both outside and on the treadmill for short distance, no more than 5 miles. Tonight I have a 6 mile run planned for the outdoors and for some reason I'm worried that I'm not going to be able to finish it. I know it's totally ridiculous, it's only 1 mile more then I've already run recently. Has anyone else had anxiety like this when coming back from a long break?

I've had anxiety when my long run increases. All through November and December I ran 6 to 6.5 miles once a week. I started training for a half marathon and the first time I had to run 7 miles really bothered me. It was really silly because it was only 0.5 miles farther than I ran the previous week. For some odd reason I was worried that I wouldn't finish it and would be stranded somewhere along the road and my stomach started doing really weird things. I decided to try a few miles, and a few minutes after I started running I felt better. Actually, I felt GREAT and had no problems with the run.
Hope your run went well0
