    Dan, Will be thinking of you. Have a nice safe trip! At least the walking will help you stay warm. Are you going to see Givens in DC? Saw him on the newsfeed again this week.

    P1xy & Emmerin, Even though the weekly amounts might look small, look at the totals. They're great!

    I refuse to post my weight today. Due to viral vagaries (i.e. changes caused by a little intestinal bug), my weight went down then up and is going down again. I just know that last pound is going to disappear this weekend and I just don't want to post a gain when it wasn't my fault! :grumble:

    Paula, hope you are feeling better. I've been real lucky. In winter, every year for the last eight years I've had at least one and often several real bad cold and cough. I usually don't get a flue shot, but because of some of my health issues and they recommend that old people (6 months to old at 70) get one. I got my shot the first day my HMO started shooting and I have barely had a sniffle.

    I just wanted to say congratulations to everyone for just taking the time to check in! I know for me this is where I seem to fall short. I find I am more successful when I check in and track what I am eating.

    A little disappointing, I gained a pound over last weigh in. On the positive side, I was one pound under my goal weight of 266 set by my HMO’s Health and Wellness Plan three weeks ago (at 269).

    My medicine has been making me nauseous for a couple months. Yesterday I narrowed it down to Centrum Silver Women 50+ multivitamin. Since the only difference between women 50- and 50+ is that 50+ don't need extra iron after menopause, I had assumed 50+ meant it didn't have iron in it. That was wrong. It does.

    Iron constipates me and makes me nauseous. Also food can bind iron and keep it from being absorbed. And calcium and iron compete for absorption. So it has all kinds of characteristics that need to be considered. But primarily my iron levels are fine and don't need to be supplemented. So why bother when it's such a problem?

    I bring this up because my stalls and increases often seem related to constipation. The correction of which results in my weight getting back to normal. I plan to switch to Centrum Silver Men to avoid extra iron and will make sure to drink all of my water, both of which should help with this issue. It will be interesting to see if there is a significant difference.

    Sorry about the essay. Just a bit peeved with myself for not reading the labels.:grumble:

    There were some really impressive numbers posted lately! And for those that didn't have such a good week, please don't be discouraged. It's not a race and we will all get to our goals. We need to just keep trying our best and really try not to be beat ourselves up when things don't go as well as we hoped. I know for me, if I beat myself up too much I tend to use it as an excuse to fail. Failure is not an option!!

    That being said, my weekly weigh in is Wednesday morning and I'm skeered!! ;)

    Okay 2 weeks in a row staying the same, I have some excuses but in the end I decided to let things slid!
    So here I am half way through the month see my doctor again in 5 days and I've managed to maintain only! This doesn't totally upset me considering how much I didn't follow my plan while I was out of town last weekend!

    I saw it but it's bouncing all over the place this week. I think I've been snacking too late at night. I'm trying to adjust to a new limit and not doing so well yet. Next week may not be pretty. It's my birthday today and I'm going out for Valentines tomorrrow too. :noway: I'm going to try to not go crazy but I don't really want to be that strict. (shrugs).
    I saw some great drops on here this week... fantastic! Everyone we just keep on keep'n on! :happy:

    Aargh! Going in the wrong direction! But I know what's causing it, LOL! Well, besides eating far too much, I reckon at least part of it must be water because I know I haven't eaten over 20,000 cals over for the week. I think I haven't been drinking enough water for one, and having too much salty stuff. So I don't think I will make my Feb. goal, but I will keep trying!

    Well, 12 days into the program and I'm losing weight, still doesn't feel real. The program is going well, I'm not hungry and I have 'cheated' a couple times with lunch. I couldn't eat the whole thing, that's the first time in a while I wasn't able to 'clean my plate'
