I have discovered the single most beneficial thing I have used for powerlifting so far: wraps and warm gear. Here's what I wore today for DL and OHP:

All Rehband gear (shirt, pants, elbow and knee sleeves). I wear sweat pants and sweat shirt over this to lift. I stay toasty the whole lifting session and it really makes it more enjoyable and the recovery is now pain free. I don't think I lift more with it because I DL without gear and set a PR but it really, really keeps all the joints and tendons warm and that is magical.

This setup isn't cheap. I got it all from Jackalls. But so worth it.

I know I can wear the knee sleeves in a meet and the elbow sleeves for squat only, but what about the neoprene pants and shirt? Probably not.

As a general rule... check with your federation on what your allowed to compete in. If it's not allowed, then don't train in it... By mentioning Knee Sleeves being OK, I'm assuming you compete RAW? In that case, I doubt the Shorts\Top would be allowed as they are classed as "supportive". But still refer to my original point...

I looked it up and just a t-shirt and singlet are allowed.

I will train in the warm gear as the benefits for my joints and tendons far outweigh any negative training. I don't even know if I will ever compete. I would like to at some point.

You just need to compete in strongman. You'd fit right in!

I've had rehband knee sleeves for years and love them to bits. You're right though, none of it is cheap.
