Hi,

I've been on and off of EMTWL and this time i'm determined to stick to it. I'm confused about my exercise. According to Scooby calculator, following are my numbers:

TDEE: 2246
BMR: 1449
TDEE - 20%: 1797 (3 to 5 hrs mod exercise)
Age: 36
Height: 5.1"
Weight: 158 lbs
Goal weight: 125 lbs

My exercise routine is

Sunday : Yoga (60 mins)
Monday: Rest (Kids activities)
Tuesday : Barreamped Cardio (1 hour)
Wedn: Barreamped ( Strength)
Thursday: Rest (kids activities)
Friday: Barreamped ( Strength)
Sat: Barreamped Bootcamp

These classes that i take doesn't use heavy weights..mostly 1 or 2 lbs and works out mostly lower body and core. I'm planning to add some arm lifts on my rest days. Is this too much?
Is my TDEG correct? Is my activity level correct? I just need someone to tell me i'm in the right path.

Thank you very much.
Rosi

    Hi Rosi!
Welcome back! Your activity level looks right. The only suggestions I would make is to just do a 10% cut. And keep your rest days/kids activities just that! The strength classes your mentioned using just 1-2 lbs weights sound like circuit training which is pretty much cardio. Do or will the strength classes ever increase weights??

    Thank you for replying :)

The classes that i take is called "Barreamped" which the instructor described it as "Pilates on steroids". Two days a week , i do barreamped cardio and bootcamp, where we do insanity type of workout with strength intervals. I don't think we are increasing weights..from what i have heard so far is we can go up to 5 lbs, but even that 1lb seems like 10lbs when I'm doing this exercise.

You suggested doing 10% cut...do you think that's a good cut to lose all my extra pounds? Also, i tend to eat a lot more on weekends (family gatherings most weekend), but i try to eat clean during the weekdays and most of the times i'm even eating lower than allowed calorie, but i definitely make it up on weekends. Is that bad? Or can i just do total calories for a week and as long as i'm in that total calories for a week, i should still lose weight right?
I just want to do it right this time :)

    Thanks,
    Rosi

Yes you can absolutely lose cutting @ 10%. It will be slower, but effective. And It would be better to eat consistent daily instead of saving calories for the weekend. Remember you will be working out during the week and you need to fuel your workouts. So under eating during the week and then " making up for it on the weekend" is not the way EM2WL works. Em2wl is about being able to enjoy foods daily , and not restricting calories for future consumption.
