When on low carb, you are eating high fat and moderate protein. This puts your body in ketosis and uses fat as its primary energy instead of glucose. It's basically a way of rearranging your macros that still puts you at a lower caloric intake. While in ketosis, most people are less hungry resulting in eating less calories causing you to lose weight.

People always think of bacon and eggs or full fat dressing as "bad" however they aren't. Fat isn't bad (and neither are carbs really) like we always are made to believe. "Low fat" or "Fat free" typically means "we took out some fat but added sugar to compensate for taste". The point is there are still calories in those items yet people think they're eating "healthy".

Did you realize a strip of bacon is around 45 calories and a single slice of bread is 80 calories (or the grocery store brand I buy is 100 calories per slice)?

If you are worried about cholesterol and saturated fat you can choose leaner cuts of meat like Canadian bacon and do 1 egg and liquid egg whites.. My cholesterol shot up way high so I made a few changes to bring it back down. I know studies go back and forth on what is good or bad but my doctor was threatening meds so no biggy to make a few changes.

Many people find their blood work improves tho, YMMV.
