I hear good things and bad things about the combination. Any experiences?

I have Hashimoto's, and I use MFP's protein goal as a minimum. But everybody's different, and it will take trial & error to find what works for you.0

I'm hypo and have done a super-low-carb (25g/day) ketogenic diet. Felt great, unlike some colleagues who did it ~same time. Very individual responses, not tied to hypo or not, based on the group I knew.
Yes, I lost weight, but not any faster than what I'm currently losing with a more balanced approach. Which is far more important to me (balance)...so like Editorgrrl, I shoot for my protein # (114g/day), because that's the one I don't hit if I don't pay attention. If I do that, the rest of my nutrients balance out pretty well.

In general, I stick to complex carbs, like quinoa, amaranth or spelt. And even those I try to limit per serving. I'm always trying to sneak in more protein. That works well for me.0
